Hi Everyone,

We are back in Florida. The return trip went well, no overheating issues. I want to thank everybody who gave me great advise about cleaning my radiator and keeping my RPM's up on grades,

(including those who flamed me for cleaning my radiator at an RV park. I hope you are never in any emergency situation and have to make that call.)

I planned my trip to make a couple of big climbs in the morning when the outside temperature was cooler. I made the climb out of Star Valley with no problem in 3rd gear and had to come to a complete stop thanks to a couple of goats in the middle of the road. After getting them out of the way I started from a dead stop on about 8% grade and motored up the rest of the hill in 3 gear.

I did the climb out of Laramie around 10:00 A.M. and again had to shift down to 3rd to stay at about 2300 RPM at about 40-45 MPH. The RV temp did rise some on both these climbs but stayed under 200 degrees.

We decided to make a stop in Branson Mo. The hills from Springfield to Branson are pretty steep but short. I shifted down and made the top no problem. There was one where the RV slowed to about 35 MPH before reaching the top.

All and all the trip was fine. We made a couple of fun stops and even did our first Walmart overnight in Laramie. We also boondocked at the Archway museum in Kearney Ne. It was a good stop but a lot of I-80 road noise.

Thanks again to all of you for the great advice. I have not been real sure about this RV do to its age and that it turned 100K on this trip. Overall it preformed admirably both in traveling and comfort of living. It is paid for and with a few more thousand dollars (haha) in upgrades I hope it will last a few more years

Phil

My God you cleaned something on your rig in a campground?!?!?! The horror. Just kidding. Do what you must, minimize your impact and clean up the mess.

Good to read the coach performed well and you made it home safety.
