Does the frig default auto to ele if unit has both ele an gas?
I have the manual in hand. It’s not much help.

Couple other questions unit only has off on button on door.
Manual does cover color codes
For gas operation No ele power connected
Gas turned on am I correct once I hit the off on on
frig door the unit should auto on. Nothing else
required.

I’m assuming if gas is working I should be able
to feel the heat outside on lines a canister

Season opening today, Earlier plugged in gas off. Frig was ice cold
latter with green light on. No cooling

So no time for service thought I’d try gas.

You might want to hold on to a copy of this service manual for your refrigerator:

Norcold Service Manual for Models N611v and N811v Series Gas/Electric Refrigerators

and this one:

Norcold Installation and Owner's Manual for N611v and N811v Models

Grab a copy while you can. You may need them later and by then the links may not work.

It appears your refrigerator automatically selects the source of heat for the boiler. The control board requires 12v in any case. 120v is selected if available (green). If not, switches to gas operation (amber). If neither source can be proved, it flashes the red indicator lamp. Seems pretty straight forward.

If you want to force the use of propane, you could unplug the cord in back if the refrigerator from the outside. That wouldn't make much sense because propane will always be more expensive to use than electric. The only reason I could see to pull the plug would be to save that amp or so of power if using a small generator or it you're tripping a too small breaker.

Operating the Refrigerator Controls:

Start the controls for automatic operation:

Push and release the ON/OFF button to start the refrigerator

- If the indicator light [185] glows solid green, it means that:
- 120 volt AC power is available to the refrigerator.
- The refrigerator is operating on AC electric power.

- If the indicator light glows solid amber, it means that:
- 120 volt AC power is not available to the refrigerator.
- The refrigerator is operating on propane gas.

- If the indicator light [185] glows solid red, it means that:
- There is a problem and the refrigerator is not cooling.
- Refer to the “Fault Code” section of this manual.

To shut down the refrigerator, push and release the ON/OFF button.

From the Norcold website FAQ page: https://norcold.com/ac-dc-refrigerators-faq/

When AC and DC power are both supplied on a refrigerator what mode will the refrigerator operate on??

When both power sources are supplied to the refrigerator it defaults to AC power. When the refrigerator is disconnected from shoreline power and AC is no longer available the refrigerator switches to DC operation.
