Need to know best RV spot for access to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown.

Leaving Oklahoma and visiting the ark in Kentucky and then the Historic Triangle.

If there is not a single place to stay please tell me how you visited the three towns.

I think we will be driving for 1 million miles round trip...

We liked Newport News Park. Non urban but convenient to all sites.

Yup, one more for American Heritage. It was a number of years ago that we stayed but I remember it was almost 100 degrees. Mentioned at the front desk this "pasty white Yankee" was dying from the heat. They immediately moved us to a premium shaded spot at no extra charge. Staff are some of the best we've ever met.

We also did American Heritage. There is a 7 day ticket that allows entry to all 3 locations. We already had tickets but American Heritage had sign advertising discount tickets...check with them on pricing.

We didnโ€™t have that long there so did a 3 day Williamsburg ticket and 1 day to Yorktown battlefield and the museum. We didnโ€™t get to Jamestown. We also did 2 day trip to Mt Vernon. If you have time, do it.

If you prefer state parks, Chippokes Plantation state park is right across the river from Jamestown. There is a free car ferry that drops you off at Jamestown.The campground has water and electric hookups and room between sites.I believe we paid $33 a night.

If you want an additional option or if space isnt available at Heritage, Newport News Park is a good option, large city owned campground, about 20 miles east of Williamsburg and only about 15 minutes south of Yorktown.

Stayed at American Heritage last weekend. Close enough it is our weekend spot.Easy access to Interstate and attractions.

We stayed at American Heritage as well and enjoyed the stay...

Very nice park and the ferry is free.

We have stayed at American Heritage Campground in Williamsburg. It make a good base for all three. If you like History you will love all three!!!
