pull rite auto slide problem

I Have a 20K Pull Rite auto slide, and have an issue with it. When I am starting from a stop, the trailer seems to move backwards slightly and bang in the hitch. When I am stopping at a light, the trailer seems to move forward slightly with a bang in he hitch. This cannot be normal?? is there an adjustment that needs to be made to stop this?

When the jam nut is adjusted properly not only will it eliminate this play but the hitch head will stay in position without needing a bungee cord when unhooked an will make hitching much easier if the truck is not the same as the trailer side to side.

The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up.

Yep - to much clearance on the adjustment bolt. This is a regular maintenance item on this hitch.
