US-23 South, Michigan to ???

We are heading to Charleston SC from Southeast Michigan. Thinking about taking US-23 as far as I can until I need to cut over to get to Charleston. I've driven it as far south as Columbus OH, anyone have any insights beyond Columbus?

Will you be pulling a trailer? How big? 23 in KY can be tight for a bigger trailer. It has some good hills and tight turns in the mountains. We have taken it in our car going to Asheville years back so some improvements may have been done in that time....but I doubt it. 23 would turn into I-26 once you hit TN. Is your objective to stay off the interstate?

You can take it all the way to Asheville. Then take I26 to charleston.

It's a scenic road once you get into Ohio. I've traveled it before. Lots of small towns and things to do and see. I prefer it over the slab.
