Double towing, which 5th wheel hitch?

I am moving from a bumper pull to a 5th wheel. We would like to haul the boat along with us on some of our trips.
I will need a 5th wheel hitch.
I will be staying within the length limits.

The trailer will weigh 10klbs and the boat weighs 2200lbs. I want to get a hitch that has room to grow in case we go bigger in the future.
So what do the 5th wheel gurus recommend as far as weight capability on the hitch?
18k?
24k?

My TV is a 2019 F250 CCSB.

Thanks for your help.

It is very easy to post pictures on our forums. One of our moderators, 1492, developed this photo posting app to post your pictures. It works for other internet sites also. There is no need to have a separate hosting site for your pictures in order to use it.

It is very simple to use.
1. Upload your picture from your computer to the app.
2. Copy the resulting URL.
3. Paste that URL into your post without ANY changes. No additions or deletions.

Your picture will then appear in your post and be properly sized for use on our forums.:)

So, I claim your bigger obstacle will be to buy a 5th wheel trailer that can be modified to double tow. Many of the manufacturers specifically warn against it, I assume for liability reasons, but there are enough reported frame issues without towing, that I'd be a bit leary. I know that I have seen a lot of the "full timer" rigs, that are a bit beefier in all regards are up to the task of towing, but lesser expensive models may not have the frame structure to do it safely.

So long as the FW's out of warranty, it's not hard to beef up the frame from the rear, to at least the rear spring hanger, then weld in a couple cross-tubes with a receiver welded to them.

One with my Malibu. This boat just feels like it puts too much strain on my 5er, so we now take two tow vehicles when we take this boat.

jmbstudios ... here's a pic of our rig hooked up with doubles. It's a bit dated now since we are in the process of adding an 8'wide x 7'long x 7'high box behind the sleeper, and moving the hitch rearward 18" with a flat deck surrounding the hitch. We pull this legally in Wyoming (85 foot state)

I spoke to a Trooper in WA, he said even with a CDL Double RV towing is NOT legal.

So who the HE!! knows! I will keep saving $500 Northbound and Southbound every year.
