Can anyone provide an update on the recovery of the Panama City Beach area after Hurricane Michael? We are hoping to make a visit in February but really don't know what to expect. The RV Park is open but whats the rest of the area like?

We were there in December visiting relatives. The beach of course is fine as are most of the condos/hotels on the beach. Most restaurants on the strip are open. We saw scooters being rented and my wife managed to play some goofy golf with a nephew, so I would say that the tourist areas are up and running pretty well. There is some problem with staffing as some former workers no longer have a home so had to move, and few vacancies as the rebuilding crews have taken a lot of the available rooms. The real damage is up in the Tyndale AFB area, and OMG, Mexico Beach has to be seen to be believed. Like a bombed-out war zone, no lie.
