Anybody have a recommendation for an app to do a line of sight satellite finder when setting up a pathway x2 dish to be sure to be clear of obstructions. Did a search and didn't come up with anything, maybe worded my search wrong. Thanks in advance.

Might want to mention it appears to be only for iPhones. Chuck

And it costs $10. I use Satfinder Lite

I have tried a couple of different apps for finding the best place for my satellite dish, and I find Dish Pointer Pro to be the best one. It has helped me find places where the satellite dish can see the satellites in some very challenging situations.

Who makes the best RV antannas? (WInegard of course) both Sat (Pathfinder X2) and OTA (Sensar IV with Sensar Pro indoor module)

So naturally who makes the best Pointer app. works for both OTA and SAT?

Winegard. Now I'll admit to using other apps in the past and they were good but the winegard app has a feature they lacked on OTA. (Most of the sat finder apps have this) Augmented reality

How it works

For OTA I open app and hit ANTENNA. then it lists the stations that might be in range on a map.. IF I KNOW WHICH WAY IS NORTH.. Go for it based on map but if I'm a tad confused I an scroll down and pick a station to "Shoot for" then holding the pone in Landscape and straight up and down slowly turn tull the tower is in the center of the screen (Tower is an anmation) point the antenna the same way.

For sat you will need to both turn and elevate till the sat is centered and if the camera is seeing trees... MOVE.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

I've used the DishPointer Pro app for a long time, but now I've switched to the Winegard TV Signal Finder app that also does OTA locations. Both apps use virtual reality to locate the sats as an overlay on the camera view.

I use Satellite Pointer Pro.

I didnโ€™t have much luck with Winegards app.

liked it cause you could view sats through the camera and find a hole in the trees and set up dish

that's precisely what the 'Dish For My RV' does.

Do a Google search or Play Store search to find the apps. I had Satellite Finder and it worked OK. I also used an in-line signal strength meter. With my current antenna I just push a button and it does all the work.
