I have a Norcold 6162 frig that will run on ac and will light on lp but immediately go out when igniter quits sparking. I have cleaned burner orifice, cleaned igniter, checked igniter for continuity. Burner flame is pretty blue and centered in the tube. I am thinking it might the igniter control but at $130 or so I would like to be more certain. I would appreciate any help.

You have already done almost all of the checks/troubleshooting
Seeing as you get ignition, flame lights but fails to stay lit.....flame proving failure

Ignition Module is what receives that signal and keeps DC on gas Valve.
No signal...DC gets dropped from gas valve shutting it so raw fuel doesn't accumulate.

Check for corrosion on pins of edge connector on Ignition Module...clean them up with pencil eraser

IF flame STILL lights but doesn't stay lit...lack of flame proving....then replace the Ignition Module

OEM Ignition Module (Part 61717037).....$120 if you really want an OEM Module

BUT..better quality/less expensive is Dinosaur Electronics replacement
UIB-Sc...with cover $80

Dinosaur Electronics Web...board info

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I did clean the terminals with an eraser. Thank you also for the better prices.

Went over and looked at the one you attached, it looks a little different than what I have. Will it plug right into the existing plug.

Plug/Play

Looks different because OEM is coated in epoxy
Dino bd is 'bare' circuit board....clear fire resistant cover goes over it to protect bd from elements and still allow you to see the Status LEDs
For fridge/water heater use you cut the jumper to make bd an instant fire vs the 20 sec delay sequence when used for furnace applications

Again, thank you for your willingness to help. I had watched a video that showed the igniter staying red out on the end while the burner was on. I got to wondering if mine was not getting hot enough to send the signal back to the board so I used a small propane torch to hold on the igniter and sure enough the burner would stay lighted. I then adjusted the igniter from about 3/16 to about 1/4 above the burner and at that point it did glow just a tad and the burner stays lighted. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Thank you again for your help, Winston
