Yeah us. We both retired this year. We are leaving right after New Years. First big stop Quartzite then Yuma then who knows LOL. Still looking at our route from NYC to Arizona, worried about the weather. Thinking get as far south as possible as soon as possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I've gone across I-40 in Jan. but it wasn't always good. Laid over in Amarillo for several days in the snow. Better to go across on I-10.

You're correct in getting as far south fast. Plan to take I-10 across. The other highways are not good to travel in January.

We were planning our first snowbird trip but its all on hold now.
DW has some potential medical issues, should find out more this week.
Hopefully we won't be leaving it too late, would like to go from early Dec to mid April. We were thinking of southeast Texas.

RK911 - FOREVER !!! After 24 years in the Air Force and 26 in my current job I'm calling it quits. Wife doesn't have quite that many but she's ready to go someplace warmer for the winter. Fishing poles are always in the trailer.

congratulations and welcome to the 'everyday is saturday' club'! enjoy retirement and safe travels.

Bring your fishing pole. If it gets to cold there head down to the Rio Grande Valley for awhile.

heading to Sunshine RV Harlingen Texas for our first snowbird experience Jan 2019 for 1 month to see if we enjoy the lifestyle, till now we have been nomads so this will be a new experience. Hopefully the roads will be good as we are leaving from Montreal, Quebec.

2nd winter in Rockport, TX

How was your winter in Rockport?

We took our 5th wheel down there at the end of June and set it up. We plan on being there next winter. Still have one more here before we retire, next year.

2nd winter in the keys. New Campground.
Last year was a disaster as the campground changed the long term manger to an extremely inexperienced person.
