Circle Superior in October?

I'm pondering taking two weeks and driving around Lake Superior. Probably would leave in a few weeks, so early October.

I'm not worried about weather so much... I am wondering about places to stay, and places to dump holding tanks.

I carry my own water and electricity so those aren't an issue.

Thoughts?

Yes, Magpie falls. The entire lake Superior area had received more than 30 inches of rain in the course of a week. All the rivers were a bit angry.

I'll take a shot - Magpie Falls in Wawa - though the water is seems very high for end of summer.

Overall a great trip. I plan to repeat when more camping options are open, especially West of Marathon.

Good point ,I forgot we did that in Terrace Bay once .Drive past the golf course to the beach and park awhile ,very scenic with a small stream/waterfall entering the lake .Mostly deserted.

Did you know a few years ago kimberly clark had 80 kms of shore line and the golf course for sale - no takers.

Heading North and East from Thunderbay tomorrow, Garmin says its 500 km to Wawa. Would have liked to stop mid-way around Marathon but can't find anything open.

I'm sure I could find someplace to park, but I wouldn't feel comfortable unhitching the trailer outside of a campground,

Why unhitch , just park at the beach lot like I suggested earlier...gofor dinner or groceries or gas before ...

Made it the 500km between TB and Wawa. Really hated to hurry through the area between Nipigon and Marathon, the mountains were unexpected and breath taking.

I'm putting the area on my list "next time"

Why take the trip? Why not. I have never needed a reason to take a trip. The area north of Lake Superior is beautiful. Take the time to stop and see the waterfalls at Gooseberry Falls, Kakabeka Falls, Magpie Falls (near WaWa). Take a look at lighthouses such as Split Rock in Minn.

Thanks for the great suggestions
