By battlefield I assume you are looking for Chalmette which is on LA39 not US90.
It is an urban congested area and more comfortably negotiated with your dinghy or TV.

Hwy 90 is a good road.

I went from Lafayette to Slidelle on 90 a couple years ago with a 40' 5ver. I don't remember anything worrisome.
