Dometic Heki roof hatch lubrication

The Dometic Heki roof hatch on my camper seems like it could open and close a lot smoother if the sliding handle were lubricated.

Has anyone found a way to make the handle-open-close-mechanism operate a little smoother?
My model looks like this one:

I don't have one of those but on plastic I've found that triflow works well. Apply with a rag and wipe off any excess. What ever you use will collect dirt though.
