Dometic RM8501 - No Ignition in LP Mode

Hello All,
I have a Dometic RM 8501. Auto Ignitor is not working (LP mode). I heard a few irregular, slow clicks in the space of about 15-30 seconds, then no more after that.
It goes through the cycles then faults out. But there is NO sparking, or attempt to spark. Also, I cannot light it manually while cycling. I already checked fuses, checked / cleaned ground connections, cleaned burner parts and replaced the burner control unit. Next, I guess, is the main control board. It worked great for the few years I've owned it. Works fine in the other two modes.
Hoping someone has an idea or two before spending $250 on a control board.
Thanks,
Ken

Thanks Folks. Yeah, already replaced the burner control unit. I got the unit from a fellow in the UK. He has the main control board in stock as well. Much cheaper than anyplace here in the States. About $260 shipped. Guess I'll have to try that next.

It's an odd manual, translated from German.

When did you move???? Parts for these models are hard to come by. Until a few years ago, the ONLY Market was Europe and Canada and Dometic did not stock parts in the USA warehouse. It took us 3 months last summer to get a main Control module for a RM 8555 under warranty. Dometic states they are now stocking various parts for the 8000 series in the USA now. Doug

Good thing it is a separate part. The MAIN control is about $700. Doug

This is for the 30 year old ORIGINAL AES(Automatic Energy Selector) RV refers by Dometic. Not this OP's model. Doug

Your model should have a Ignition control model that opens the gas valve and has the Electronic Piezo, separate from the main board. That is the part you probably need. I believe since it is a European model refer they call the part a "Burner Control Device". Doug
