Are there any books similar in style to the Church books, like the one covering Northwest Canada and Alaska, but for Northeast Canada?

Specifically any covering the James Bay Road, Quebec 389, the Trans-Labrador Highway and other roads in that area?

Other book recommendations for the area are greatly appreciated as well.

Your better off finding blogs on this...some of the info provided in this request is old.
Each year they are paving more and more of Labrador. We went in 2013...more has been paved since then. Books would be outdated for labrador.

Kevin Major was asked to write a very readable history of his province. He did. 2001 โ€“ As Near to Heaven by Sea: A History of Newfoundland and Labrador โ€“ ISBN 0-14-027864-8 (nominated: Pearson Writers' Trust Non-Fiction Award)

He also wrote The House of Wooden Santas, which is a lovely NL Christmas tale.

So many books claiming Newfoundland and Labrador but they only cover Newfoundland Island and the few sites close to the ferry on the mainland.
