Nampa to Elko

I am picking up a new truck in Nampa next week and was wondering what Highway 78 and 51 are like this time of year. Will not be towing and was looking for a road I haven’t been on before and this fits the bill!

There's a storm blowing through this weekend and more moisture next week. Keep an eye on the weather. Looks like mostly rain, but if it gets colder than predicted, watch for blowing snow. I'm not a big fan of travelling in blizzard conditions across the flats, esp. because the wind would generally be blowing across the road. When you get higher up on NV 225 around Mountain City you might run into snow?
