Best route from Hugo, OK to Sommerville, TX

I think from Hugo, OK if I go to Palestine, TX and take 79 just south of Leona then take Hwy marked OSR west to just west of Bryon at 21, west to 36 then south to Sommerville. How would that route be?
I wish to bypass Bryon and College Station.

Like fanrgs, we always take 79 to 36 at Milano.

"OSR" stands for Old San Antonio Road--the original Spanish-Mexican road from San Antonio to Nacogdoches and Louisiana. If you want to avoid Bryan-College Station completely, just stay on US 79 to Hearne, then US 190 to TX 36, which goes right into Somerville. May add a few miles, but will keep you out of Bryan's traffic.

BTW, we have camped at the west end of Somerville Lake State Park in the off-season and had an entire campground loop all to ourselves.
