Fruit Platter gone wild!

This is how Floridians make a Palm Tree fruit platter! :C




Really easy to make and puts on quite a show at any BBQ or even for inside holiday buffets.
So you Northerners can bring a little sunshine into your winter festivities also! :W

The green leaves are nothing more than palm fronds stuck into the top pineapple and around the fruit plate.

For Christmas we wrap a sting of those tiny lights around the palm tree part.

Wheels up and ready to cruise. One of my relatives is having to throw an engagement party and I sent them that picture. They loved it and will make one for the main buffet. They're all into palm trees and beaches.

What is the secret for keeping the pineapple "tree" from falling over?
Even a dowel rod running through the middle of those pineapples would still need to be attached to a base to keep it upright. So give, what gives it stability?

we also take a whole water melon and cut in half and add vodka! And then cut in cubes. Just have to warn the grandparents and kiddie's that the 'special' watermelon is off limits! :B
