First thing broke and only one trip in...

I went out today to cycle the genny and my LP/CO detector was beeping. I didn't smell gas but checked around...what I did smell was burnt circuit board.

I seems that it was a "fault" code beeping so on opening up the unit sure enough, it had a burnt component. I am hoping this $80 item was my "initiation"

While you are at it replace ALL your detectors. Propane, CO & smoke.

Stuff like a smoke detector, CO detector and I suspect the propane detector have expiration dates. I'd consider the failure normal maintenance. Check all other detectors while you're at it.

Now that's funny, and oh so true. And yes I own one. Now for the kicker.....I owned one 7 years ago and when I dumped it said never another LOL. :S
Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

I've never owned a FR, I guess I have no opinion to offer.

This was just a "consumable" in my mind...I don't want to get a brand feud going...LOL

20 year old low mile winnie adventurer 34WA from an RV shop. The PO replaced quite a bit so I am just crossing my fingers that he found most before he upgraded:W

Probably time for new LP/CO Detector anyway.....they have a 5-7 year life span (sensors die)
Expiration date S/B stamped on backside

I looked at the date...it was right at the 5 year mark anyway

Two forest river products in the past. 9 years and 5 years and I only replaced the lp/co thing because it was old. I don't think a nail in a tire is forest rivers fault and after plugging it, it never went flat.

You must be blessed...:p

Detectors, I never mentioned them, you did.

Uh no, the OP's post was about a detector failing.
Is this the way you want this to go from now on?

First we do is disable the LP/CO/low voltage detector as half the time they don't work right anyways. Vents and at least one window is always open any ways.
