Tesla had a quick change battery early on for the Model S. Claim was no demand from the public. Commercial fleet use could be a different story. Just mounts to the frame under the vehicle... more mechanical design than technology if a company wants to go that way. However as long as a company is picking up a stack of extra batteries I doubt it would save much vs. just having the entire truck ready to go.

The comments I read about the battery swap for Tesla’s were concerning giving up your 2000 mile battery for a 100,000 mile battery. A valid concern IMO.

An interesting fact regarding the Gigafactory is Tesla backed away from the commitment to use Solar to power it. Recent drone shots show no panels on the roof.

Two more high ranking Tesla employees leave the sinking ship.

More and more leaving before the ship is scuttled.

Youtube video shows a black model of the truck driving past the UPS Customer Center in Sunnyvale, California, a 20-minute drive from Tesla’s headquarters in Palo Alto.

27 engines in the booster stages. That multiple smaller engine scenario did not work out well for the Soviets when they went up against the Saturn V and it's 5 big honkin 1st stage engines. Liquid fueled rocket engines with turbopumps are a little bit complicated, and it does not take much to splode one. The Russians whole moon landing program was sidetracked due to one small nut that made it's way into the pump of one of its 30 1st stage engines LOL.

Elons car has a good chance of ending up in the Atlantic as opposed to Mars. It is an impressive thing the Falcon heavy. I personally can't wait for the launch but there are lots of areas where things can go boom.

Shell is not the only one. It is already law in Russia that any gas station has to have a charge point and new stations must have a fast charge point. Europe has seen charge points show up at gas stations for the last year already. This will probably take a while to catch on in North America although the Tesla Supercharger network is growing reasonably well. Still a ways to go though. Thinks will look a lot different in the next couple years. Once the model Y makes it into production they will have to step up their game even more. When a half million cars per year start hitting the street charging capacity will need to be there. The majority of us charge at home but road trips are another story.
