My wife and I are booked into a NY state park campground along the St Lawrence Seaway for the Labor Day weekend and week. I was anticipating a nice quiet week to relax after finishing a major room remodeling in our lakeside cottage a few hours south of the park until my wife informed this morning that, "The three girls are going to meet us there Saturday morning and stay with us until Tuesday. They said I should tell you to kiss your privacy goodbye!" Oh, and "the three girls" are our 50 year old twin daughters and a 51 year old friend that's been pretty much a family member since she was a young child. Should be fun... :E

So Dutch, how'd the long weekend go, hope y'all had a great time.

Oops! I lost track of where I posted! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The week end was a lot of fun, and we're already making plans for doing something similar again next year for a full week! The weather didn't cooperate fully though, including drenching all of us with a cold rain storm while we were hiking a nearby nature trail. If you can imagine five people all trying to get out of dripping wet clothing, dried off, and dressed in dry clothes in the confines of a 34' motorhome at the same time, well, you get the idea. Fortunately, our other excursions to local attractions went much more smoothly. Then there was the "too many cooks, not enough kitchen" routines at meal times that would make a great comedy routine on Saturday Night Live. Fortunately, as the designated outside grill tender, I got to stay out of that chaos for the most part. The food was sure great though!

The bottom line is that we all had a great time, got lots of exercise, didn't get much sleep, and most importantly, laughed a lot! :B

I don't think ME being harmless or not is going to be the problem. What about THEM? :B

Dutch, you're certainly old enough to know about camping over the holidays, ๐Ÿ˜‰ but sounds like you've got a great week to look forward too, I love it when our 48 year old DD wants to go with us.

Oh yeah, I certainly do know how holidays and camping can be! We chose this state park and our site specifically because it not only has a great view of the St Lawrence, but it's also well separated by foliage from the neighbors. We've been there a number of times in the past and have never had any serious noise issues, even on holidays.
