Kids raise chickens, or show or that was the intention.
Instead they take about 20-25 dozen eggs to their church pantry per month, given out to Folks in need.
They keep them penned up because of all the hawks around, even sitting on top of the wire enclosure.
Sunday morning, sitting on the swing the big rooster crows and the banty answers or shouts back.
Then a crow, of which we have plethora, patrolling the yard and field, gets in on thee act.
he was sitting in one of the trees nearby and so we had big joe, little joe and crow in sequence, for way too long.
I don't know if he thought he would just join in or was trying to stir them up.
Sometimes the hens sound off with them and throughout the day we might hear two or more of them making a rucus.
Whenever they lay and egg they want to announce it to the world.

Hmm, it almost makes sense. "Almost, but not quite." [emoticon]

Crows are very annoying. Thankfully we haven't had them show an interest in chickens, but they sure are talented with their in flight poop bombing of my shop building and pickup.

We have a Brittany...She is absolutely bird crazy. It's in her DNA. She will throw a point on a butterfly or on a helicopter passing overhead...

She will have nothing to do with crows. Pays no attention to them whatsoever.

My Dalmatian/Lab was constantly harangued by 2 crows
They would take turns dive bombing her until one day she had enough.
Just as one came swooping in she leapt into the air, snatched one of the crows and 'breasted it' then looked at the other crow.

After that day no more harassment by any crows. Fact is crows moved on elsewhere.
