RE: Electric and ICE forever together?

The sales guy is correct IMO, perhaps not in California or states who have decided that California knows best. I’ve recently read two different articles that will impact the movement to all electric vehicles. One article discussed the creation of carbon neutral eFuels made from captured carbon and water. Germany stated (per article) they won’t support the EU’s no more ICE vehicles unless eFuels are allowed. Second article was Hydrogen fueled vehicles, which are already available in some countries or states. The by product of using Hydrogen it it produces water. From what I’ve read, both of these alternatives can be distributed through existing infrastructure, and thus allows you to fill up at the same speed as petroleum based fuels. As I recall, Ford is committed to build ICE based trucks as current or foreseeable, battery powered trucks are not sufficiently capable to haul heavy loads.

RE: Leaking walls

Don’t know about repairing the rain gutter, might depend on the condition of the area it attaches to. There are other reasons your walls may be “leaking”. When (if ever) have you had the roof checked and resealed? When was the last time you had the AC unit serviced to include checking the rubber seal between the unit and the roof.

RE: Jasper - Whistler - Googo Earth vs Reversation

Looks like the place is on both maps. Just need to turn one or the other so they line up. 15+16 seems to match the place you’re pointing to.

RE: Good Sam credit card opened in my name

You could have just got a phishing email disguised as a Good Sam email. I hope you didn’t respond to that email. My BIL had his email account hacked and now I’m getting about 80-100 junk emails every single day. I’ve blocked most of them, but they’re getting slick by generating random email server addresses. Sickening.

RE: How to transfer large video from phone to computer

I wouldn't try emailing a video as a file attachment. Instead send a link to it from MS OneDrive or Google Drive instead. One reason all my pictures are automatically uploaded to the cloud (iCloud that is) when WiFi is available.

RE: State Parks

Many folks book months, up to 13 months ahead (depending on state rules) and will have a change of plans. Maybe they call the park to cancel, maybe not. Rude is rude.

RE: Pets left alone in RV at campground?

I’ve seen all kinds of opinions on this thread ranging from self interpretations of the rules, self-righteous never broken a rule ever, to those with common sense. I’ve been to federal parks where pets aren’t allowed on the beach, trails, roadways. It’s impractical to never leave your pet alone in your RV when you need/want to go out for dinner, grocery shopping, or seek medical help. Taking them with you and leaving them in the car kinda depends on the weather. Lots of dogs, cats, babies have perished in what some consider a mild climate, but park their car in the sun. If you are a full timer it’s hard to leave your pets with a friend or board them. We take our dogs with us all the time because they are family, they are small loving creatures that wouldn’t hurt a flea, and usually only bark as we are backing out of the campsite and they realize they can’t go too. We leave them in a climate controlled MH, and if we ever comeback and there’s a note from the ranger we will deal with at that time. We also drink in our RV even though the signs says no alcohol allowed. I do speed on a regular basis but not by much, another rule broken..O’ Darn.

RE: Kitchen stove fan "flap".

The good news is you can paint it. You might try using Aerospace 303 UV protectant to slow the yellowing. I changed mine two years ago with one of of Amazon. It is already yellowing.

RE: Nascar Hall of Fame - Charlotte, NC

There is a camping world next to the Charlotte Motor Speedway with plenty of space. Might give them a call to see if you can park there.

RE: Is there such a thing a decent valve extender?

The extensions on mine have been there for almost 6 years now and have never leaked. I do have the tires inspected every year.

RE: Request Structural Change.

I don’t think it’s just a matter of not cutting a hole and associated hardware. It most likely will require a significant changes to the floor plan as well.

RE: Layover

I’ve heard of what you’re suggesting, not sure the specifics. I sure someone will come along with some info.

RE: Visible wants me to upgrade to new plan

So you’ve only been on your existing plan for a year. You’ll be staying with the same carrier, but will have improved service at the same price. I’m not sure you have anything to object too.

RE: Need a new toad-a sporty one

Since you had a Miata ( I had one too ) now may be a good time to get a “bigger” car. My wife has a 2018 Mini Cooper S Convertible. Only problem is it’s an automatic which means it can’t be flat towed, but the manuals can. It’s a fun car, with good power.

RE: New Class C vs Used Class A

You may disagree, but my take is 31ft is a bit small for four or more grown people, when one considers the stuff they will need to bring with them, and where you gonna store it. Back in 2016, we looked hard at the 31BE and was less than impressed with the build quality, and the size of the bathroom especially the sink area. We opted for a Newmar BayStar Sport which had a similar floor plan and while the bathroom is small, there is more countertop for all the DW’s stuff. However, it was a one year model. One thing to consider, is if the bunks are rated for grownups. Can the front seats in the Four Winds be used while parked? If not, consider something else.

RE: Should I paint galvanized vent caps?

The only reason to paint them is if you want to have them match the pipe or other rooftop parts.

RE: Good Sam or KOA

I’ve stayed at a lot of KOA’s and most of them have been good experiences, albeit a bit pricey. Of course this statement depends on what amenities you take advantage of. I’ve stayed at a few where I wondered how in the “H” have they passed a KOA inspection., or how did the get a good camper review. But like I said, mostly positive experiences. Stayed at some Good Sam approved parks and they too have been hit or miss. Read the reviews with a critical eye.

RE: Base Plate question on Jeep Wrangler

Not sure this helps, but the Roadmaster base plate does not interfere with the stock front bumper, but you do need to cut or remove the big plastic shield from under the engine.

RE: Mattresses!

Just curious, have you checked that the bunks are rated for a 220 person?

RE: Vent fan upgrades

I swapped the tiny little fan in the kitchen area and it does pull more air. The downside side is it noisy.
