RE: Good Sam or KOA

I’ve stayed at a lot of KOA’s and most of them have been good experiences, albeit a bit pricey. Of course this statement depends on what amenities you take advantage of. I’ve stayed at a few where I wondered how in the “H” have they passed a KOA inspection., or how did the get a good camper review. But like I said, mostly positive experiences.
Stayed at some Good Sam approved parks and they too have been hit or miss. Read the reviews with a critical eye.

RE: Base Plate question on Jeep Wrangler

Not sure this helps, but the Roadmaster base plate does not interfere with the stock front bumper, but you do need to cut or remove the big plastic shield from under the engine.

RE: Mattresses!

Just curious, have you checked that the bunks are rated for a 220 person?

RE: Vent fan upgrades

I swapped the tiny little fan in the kitchen area and it does pull more air. The downside side is it noisy.

RE: cat tranquilizer

Syringe or eye dropper for liquids. Cats adapt really quickly, best to have them in carriers while in motion.

RE: Dinghy charging from MH

Interesting. I don’t know the specifics (the reason I let CW do it), but there are wires going from the connector directly to the tail lights to power the turn signals and brake lights. The lights are controlled solely from the rv not from the brake pedal in the Jeep.
Anyhow, good luck with a charge line.
Thanks. My guess is they installed a diode on yours - something I considered but was in over my head in terms of wiring so I just did it the easy way.
They did, and it was above my capabilities.

RE: Dinghy charging from MH

I know nothing about a CRV and what’s required for towing. But I do have a ready brake system for my 2015 Wrangler. I had CW install the wiring to drive the tail lights. It does use the 6 pin connector but my RV doesn’t currently provide a charge line. (Newmar decide not to wire it) The lights are driven from the MH, no power needed in the Jeep, no charge line, Jeep key is in my pocket while towing. (Or in the MH somewhere)
Does the CRV need the key set to ACC for towing?

RE: PayPal Money Request Scam

My brother in law had his email account hacked and the hacker sent out emails from that account. The emails requested for the recipient to create an Amazon E-gift card and send it to a specified email address. Being suspicious I called my BIL and he was unaware that his account had been hacked. He had to call his provider and reclaim his account.
Net is if it looks suspicious, check it out.

RE: PayPal Money Request Scam

Ha! I too dumped PayPal & eBay for their political positions. Haven’t looked back.
Not a reflection on PayPal.
This junk is all around. Nothing looks legit. Maybe drop the AOL.
agreed but we dropped paypal after their little TOS event where they were gonna fine people who posted "disinformation" (AKA a different opinion). and eBay is no longer about small, individual sellers. hasn't been for a while. since i no longer use eBay I no longer needed PayPal.

RE: lighter weight four down toad?

A good used Chevy Sonic (auto or manual) or Spark (manual) but the latter may be too small.

RE: RVIA Certificate?

The RVIA sticker means nothing as evidenced by the number of issues people encounter. It may be a way to assure home built campers out.

RE: Slides out or autolevelers down first?

Be nice to know the brand of is current mh, and what chassis. As others have stated check your manual and/or call customer support.
I have a Newmar gasser and won’t say what I do, as it may not be relevant for your needs.

That’s a fairly low bar, but you’ll be driving slower, and should be a nicer drive.

RE: Lake Mead should show some increase in level.

May be time to have a discussion about infrastructure projects to move water from where there is an abundance to areas that need it. But then it may be time to quit building in areas that Mother Nature created as deserts! :-)

RE: Flying J / Pilot to install megachargers for med/heavy trks

As one of, if not the largest fuel company in the USA, I expect Pilot to aggressively provide support for electric trucks and cars. It matters not how many chargers they install, it won’t be enough unless charging times come way down.

RE: Flying J / Pilot to install megachargers for med/heavy trks

Slavery has existed for thousands of years (and sadly exists to day), yet people still go to see the pyramids, and the other “wonders of the world”. We buy trillions of dollars worth of goods from our enemy China much of it built with slave labor, yet we still buy their stuff. I’m ok with folks not buying a product or component there of on moral grounds, but be consistent. Check the labels and don’t buy from countries that use slave labor, or are our enemies.

RE: EV alternative for light/medium duty trucks

“ Bottom line we need to get off fossil fuels as fast as we can. ”
I’m still waiting on a plan detailing how the world is going to do that, but I’d settle for one for the USA. There has been little attention paid on how to replace all the products (thousands of them) that are dependent on oil, coal, nat gas. Replacing ICE cars and trucks is the low hanging fruit and will take 30-50 years to accomplish unless the fed’s require all ICE vehicles be taken off the road and/or gas/diesel stations be closed.
At the end of the day, assuming we are GROSS carbon neutral (none of the “net neutral” junk) Mother Nature is still going to go through warming/cooling cycles.
