RE: Ideas for carrying/securing open framed generator

HOLY THREAD RESURRECTION BATMAN. This thread is nearly 2.5 years old. A plastic yard tool box is a bit bulky to pack around in the back of my truck and use as a generator shelter / noise blocker

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

I don't know why Timmac believes DirecTV or DISH killed his dog but it's time to get over it! Where is there information about a dog being killed?

RE: TT for full time living or negatives of trailer brands

I've literally rebuilt this thing from top to bottom. It is a good camper NOW! How did you proceed with rebuilding the walls, floor and roof? Did the factory supply you with new wall panels?

RE: Grease gun/ grease recommendations

Yes it will use a lot of grease the first time you do it, because the factory did not fill the voids in the hub. After the first time, it will take LESS grease than if you packed by hand. It shouldn't take more than 2 tubes the first time to do all 4 hubs. Buy 3 to be safe. Not a big expense. There is absolutely ZERO reason to totally pack a wheel hub full of grease. Even when following the instructions on proper EZ Lube technique, you still run the risk of blowing the grease past the inner seal once you jam the hub full of grease, then your brakes are shot. I've seen it happen. There;s a video I need to find and post.

RE: Overloaded wheel Breakage

First and foremost, the member that posted this link is not the one that bought wheels in that link. That link is a website run by MelloMike.

RE: Mileage observations

I tried one trip to drive 60 instead of my usual 70, It wasn’t worth it. Define what you mean by "it was not worth it"... Worth what? And what is the "it" that there was no "worth" being applied to?

RE: Gm 2500HD GAS VS DIESEL

You don't need to "pay off" the diesel upgrade. It pays back (sometimes with interest) when you sell the truck. Besides, who in the world buys a diesel because it's cheaper? You buy it because it does the job better and more comfortably. Ditto on all of the above. It's a lot less effortless towing with a diesel than a gas truck. I am not constantly managing my throttle application in anticipation of hills, etc.

RE: My Grand Design 320G came in!

Opted for pretty much all options, except for dual pane windows That would have been the most important option for me, and a lot of other people that camp in spring or fall, or wet weather.

RE: New AC problem

Installer says that the constant repeated cycling is not an issue. That some units do that. Seems abnormal to me. I don't think it's normal either. Seems like the installer is saying that because he isn't willing to troubleshoot and fix the problem, or replace the unit again.

RE: Done for the year. Video: I winterized my AF.

We leave the WH on all year. I tried that one winter, it made a significant impact on my electric bill. I stopped doing it after a few months and decided to winterize the RV.

RE: New Brakes Requires

If replacing wheel bearings, use Timken brand, the Chinese junk sold by eTrailer and most other places are junk. Ditto on Timken. Here's a decent video I found... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzhGsT03-ak&

RE: Honda eu2000i separate on/off switch

Why are people wanting to drain their carburetors? Gas goes bad during long term storage and gunks up the carb. The problem can be worse with gas with ethanol in it, which is what almost all gas has in it now, unless you go to a station that sells Ethanol Free gas.

The Bolt is not intended to tow. Using an EV as a tow vehicle sounds like a huge burden.
