RE: Solar Install

....begins to rightfully work itself loose and panels end up through the windshield of a minivan full of kids or worse, causing multiple vehicles to crash? It happens more often than you're willing to admit, obviously.
WHen did it happen?
I've searched all over the interwebs and don't see a single report of it happening.
Granted, I'm not one that would use VHB tape to attach panels to ANY roof material.

RE: Storing My Diesel Truck Over Winter Advice

Letting vehicles sit for 6 months is hard on them.
How is is "hard" on them?
There's no wear and tear as it's not being driven so your claim makes no sense whatsoever.

RE: Making my onboard generator quieter

Sleeping in an RV with a vacuum cleaner cooling it, powered by a lawn mower
There's no vacuum cleaner that cools an RV, nor is there a lawn mower powering anything.

RE: 3.42 gears for TC

Don't overthink it.
It's a Duramax. It will be fine. If it wasn't fine, then the factory wouldn't offer only one gear ratio.
Duramax trucks used to have 3.73 as the only gearing, but that may have changed when the 10 speed was introduced.

RE: Caulk used at factory

Anybody know what type of caulk is typically used from the Northwood factory
Geocel MHRV is what the factory uses, but it seems as though it's only available to RV manufacturers. Proflex RV is what consumers use.
Here's a good video on the topic: How To SEAL YOUR Arctic Fox | ROOF and SIDES

RE: Load center wiring

I think it is because the negative terminal of the battery is connected to the frame ground as are the ground wires.
YEP. THis.

RE: Ford Trailer Backup Assist

I'm guessing that the steering input required to make a give turn is based on geometrical calculations of the distance between the tail gate camera location and location of the checkered sticker. Once you "relocate" the camera, all those dimensions change, so it's hard to say how well it would work.

RE: Big quality of life mod

The other big mod to make is to connect the pump to the plumbing with a length of stainless braided faucet supply hose. This isolates the pulses of the pump from the rigid pex piping.
Forget the above.
To eliminate the pulsing, install an accumulator tank like this

RE: Small trailer suggestions

The Founder/COO of Ember worked for both Thor and Forest River which should tell you something. I doubt he has had some divine intervention regarding build quality.
FAKE NEWS alarm just went off.
The Founder of Ember is not a "he".
Details here if you don't believe me.

RE: Small trailer suggestions

In many states, RVs under 4000 lbs. GVW don't require a title to sell
I've never seen a trailer (RV, cargo, utility, etc) traveling down the highway without a license plate on it.
Which states allow trailers to go on public roads with a license plate (and title)?
