RE: Current crop of SUV'S

Love my new Toyota Highlander SUV. Easier to get into (over a car), lots of power, smooth ride, very roomy inside. And it tows 5,000 pounds. We'll never go back to a car. I just bought my wife for her birthday a 2019 Highlander XLE AWD, its a nice quiet riding SUV, Toyotas dual fuel inject V-6 is the best V-6 on the market..

RE: Disney Says 10 Million Signed up for Streaming in One Day

Streaming doesn't work very well with so many places that don't have cable or cell service. If you want to stay in the city maybe it will work. Just a little wait and there will be hundreds of low orbit satellites beaming down internet all over north America and beyond... 17 months and 3 days and no more Dish/Direct TV...

RE: Disney Says 10 Million Signed up for Streaming in One Day

The cost of staying connected is outrageous and an overall rip off. Yep with streaming you only need internet, there is hundreds of FREE programs and movies that don't require a monthly fee. And if you want certain programs that you have to pay for you can pick what you want and pay for what you get without added junk channels and you can cancel at anytime without a hassle, just click online and cancel, no sells BS and no extra equipment needed except the Roku box that you own..

Disney Says 10 Million Signed up for Streaming in One Day

While Dish/Direct TV lose millions of customers every year.. Satellite TV will never be able to offer these prices. The first-day results exceeded expectations of Wall Street analysts, many of whom predicted that it would take until the end of the year for Disney+ to reach 10 million sign-ups. Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Bob Iger has made Disney+ the company’s top priority over the last year, and much of his legacy rests on its success. However, at just $6.99 per month, Disney+ is an exceptional deal for cord-cutters, and an even better deal for Verizon customers, many of whom are eligible for a free year. Disney is also offering streaming bundles that include Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for the low price of $12.99/month. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2019-11-13/disney-signups :B

RE: New Mattress or Hotel ?

The mattress on my sofa pullout has always been bad, even with a mattress topper. My daughter and husband are coming for a visit at thanksgiving and I need to get them a hotel, for about $500 or spend $$ on making the mattress good enough to sleep on. I was thinking about one of those nice air beds but was not sure if it would work when the sofa is closed up. Let me know Thanks Air mattress on the floor or better yet buy them a tent and put the air mattress in the tent.. :B

RE: I could live with an Atlis type truck

Atlis trucks look interesting. Be kinda fun be done with $3 to $5 per 10 miles for fuel, 8 mpg range anxiety, lazy grade braking, oil changes, brake jobs, broken engines, having to argue about synthetic oil, rank exhaust fumes on a winter morning, etc I am a fan of electric cars/trucks but I am still not buying one till the battery technology gets better. 500 to 600 mile range on a full charge not towing is where I am at than I might buy one. Also the price of batteries need to come down or at least last beyond 10 years..

RE: What is a 6.0L Chevy engine

I have a 2014 Chevy 1 ton van with a 6.0 V-8 with a 6 speed HD tranmission, it is fast and will eat gas like crazy if you drive it fast, other than that I have 55000 miles and no issues..

RE: Horrible Good Sams/ Bank of the West Financing

When I was shopping for my TT last summer, I found one that I liked at CW. The salesperson and I were talking about the pending purchase and she started her pitch for all of the add ons. $200 for a battery and box. $100 for a full 20 pound lp tank. $1500 delivery and prep charge. I was ready to walk when she dropped the next on on me-$1500 extra if I did not finance with them. I was gone pretty fast after all of this. I found a TT better suited for our type of camping and paid the price that was on a sheet taped to the table in the TT. No anything added except taxes and title transfer state charge That right there is why my last 2 motorhomes were not bought at Camping World, $1500 delivery/set-up fee and $1500 if you have your own finance and $200 for a battery that the RV should have came with and $100 for 20lbs of propane. :h

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

What you guys need is a Roku and a Apple box, I have both and the content I have access to is in the hundrends of progarms that offer thousands of channels, some even specialize in just documentaries channels and others show travels channels all around the world and I can even watch TV channels in many areas around the world, all sport channels and movie access channels and local news channels and world news channels, the list goes on and on. I am also thinking of getting a Amazon box and Googles streaming box and add even more content.. Really there is thousands of channels and many are FREE.. :C

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

I use streaming and sat. at my stick house. I pay for Netflix, Prime and Crave + internet. There are a lot of other things I could stream but I need my sat. account to login. Streaming doesn't come close to eliminating my need for sat. Do you have a Roku box or just doing streaming from your smart TV, the reason I ask is Roku has 10 x the content over satellite TV and can get more access to streaming with Roku vs the smart TV streaming channels, I can only think of a few programs that require a cable account and that is shrinking every month, many programs are breaking there contract with Direct/Dish/cable companies and going streaming. Yes even all sport channels are now streaming.. In fact I am sure all programs/channels and such have all gone streaming now, even local news channels are streaming for free..

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

TIMMAC MAKES A GREAT POINT IN HIS LAST POST. HE IS NOT DOING ANY OF THIS IN AN RV!!!!!! His fantasy becomes even more obvious when you understand he's in a house posting BS on an RV forum. Oh yes I do stream in my RV, I have a 4G Version hotspot with a wifi booster and a wifi repeater to pickup free wifi at RV parks and other places. Both TV's in RV have a Roku box. Yes its spotty in certain areas and no service in some areas and strong signal in other areas, but when I RV I am mostly boating, sitting outside at a campfire or sight seeing, I don't sit in my RV and watch TV all day.. I am waiting to sign on to Elons internet as soon as it gets going, I will let you know how the service performs.. Some enjoy the outdoors when RVing and others sit in there RV all day..

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

I would like to know where you're getting your high speed bandwidth to stream as much as you claim? $400 a year? You're getting that bandwidth for $33.33 per month? What a load of BS. No the $400 per year is what I pay for programs such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and a few other channels, adds up to about $400 per year does NOT include my internet service, my business pays for my internet and I think that is about $40-$45 per month unlimited 20 Mbps speed at my house and $20 for my hotspot for the RV..

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

I wonder how most cable providers provide both television and internet and get away charging for both? Perhaps you should look into those businesses and how they interact. Want the short answer? Because you won't be streaming most providers /channels unless you pay someone. Start adding up all the subscription costs. Netflix / Prime / _______ /_______ etc. Those fees are not going away no matter how it gets to you. Now its different if you want to watch nothing but internet baloney, Youtube, and in your case the Fantasy channel. The reason cable companies are still providing both is many over 40 years of age have not gone full streaming and many don't understand how it works, I have 2 brothers that are still stuck in the cable world even though they have internet at there house. You don't need cable to get 95 percent of the programs on streaming anymore, that to is going away, you need to check out Roku box and learn something. Cable/satellite TV service has few folks signed up under 30 years of age, streaming growing by the thousands daily. As to cost for streaming it is far cheaper if you know how it works and don't add extra channels that you don't need, many are free. My total household and RV streaming is around $400 a year for thousands of programs, movies, sports, news, etc, 10 times the content than cable/satellite and many programs are commercial free. My monthly internet is not included in the above cost because I need internet for my business so I might as well go ahead and stream down all my TV programs/movies for cheap while I have internet anyways. The younger generation including my 2 daughters in there mid 20's already sees the savings and better content for cheap since they all have internet and don't see why the slow older generation is paying $100 a month for a few junk channels loaded with commercials.. :C

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

Musk is a modern day PT Barnum and lots of folks follow everything he says without question.. Elon is putting rockets in space for about half what NASA does and the rockets return back to earth to be reused.. Elon is also not the only company putting multiple satellites in space to beam down internet, everyone needs internet and since you pay for internet that everyone needs nowadays might as well stream all your programs and movies while you have internet. No need to pay a $100 a month for junk channels on cable/satellite TV service since you are paying for internet.. 17 months and 8 days...

RE: Class A. Wheel size

I'd suggest that you look at the broader picture. It's not just about the load that the tires can take. The tires transfer their load to another surface. (it's called the roadway, whatever that surface might be) When you have smaller tires, they must transfer higher unit loads to the surface they are in contact with. That means that they have the potential to overload the contact surface. Your potential to get stuck on soft surfaces goes up the more highly your tires are loaded and the softer the surface is. There are many other factors (benefits) to larger tires/wheels but that is beyond the scope of this discussion. Chum lee Only if the tires were close to being max weight, mine are not, I have something around a extra 5500 pounds carrying weight on tires over my gross weight of 20,500lbs weight. As to surface contact I don't see a issue with a 19.5 at these weights, maybe 30,000 plus lbs but not 20,500 lbs.
