RE: Rhinoflex... Not what it used to be

I started out with the Thedford hose lasted a few months past 5 years. In Alaska you go with what's available so went with Camco Rhinoflex going on year 5 in July. This has all been fulltime use seldom lay hose on ground usally use hose holder.

RE: Guilty pleasures

Sometines I look like a pro, others a nubie. If it's really a rough day and the lawn chairs are lined up I'll hop out when I finaly get her parked and pass the hat among the audience. Entertainment don't come free.

RE: What's your stick(est) wicket?

What I love are the pull throughs that you have to back out of. Guess we're just too long but too often new spring help has not really learned the park yet and that giant tree and the narrow road does not make an easy exit.

RE: What length sewer hose?

Two 10 ft work 99% of the time though we have had longer runs to contend with so we carry extra two 10fters but they're still in the box.

RE: Heat pump operating range

Some people think AC and Heat pumps are the same they are not. I do not think they are the same, I know they are the same thing with a reversing valve. Most do not have heat strips and most of those that do, are just AC units that use heat strips for heat...no reverse cycle. Difference between home units and RV unit. I know home heat pumps have heat strip backups but I've never heard of a RV heat pump having heat strip backup. The gas furnace is the RV heat pump backup.

RE: Roll Call Alaska 2019

I'm not asking about the Alaska leg. I am asking about hwy 95 on the west side of Banff/Jasper as a route rather than Icefields Parkway. We crossed at Sweetgrass MT coming up from Texas went up through Calgary and took 1 over to Banff so the DW could do some shopping then took 1 over to 97 which is a very nice drive an 97 will take you to Dawson Creek.

RE: Anchorage Campgrounds, bad as they say?

We've stayed at Ship Creek in '15' since we didn't do much other than sleep there a couple three nights we had no complaints at we weren't staying for the amenities. Stayed in Palmer last summer at Big Bear on our way down to Homer Needed an oil change and replenish food stuffs. Nice park, as far as AK RV parks unless I've missed something this one is a 4 star. Also stayed at Golden Nugget on our way back from Homer as it was across the street from Costco and we needed to resupply again. Very tight spaces and our 39 overall 5er was a foot longer than the site with no place to park the tow vehicle.

RE: Battery in key fob ?

If it is push button start you push the button with the key fob and it will start like normal. Are you saying the truck will sense the presence of the fob even if it's battery is dead? Will keyless entry work with a dead fob battery? I can open my F350 without the key or the fob just push the combo to the pad.

RE: F450 vs 350/3500

Hauling the combo in my sig. I thought about the 450 but considered it overkill when only the turning radius could be a plus. Do recommend the 4:10 over the 3:55 unless your always on he flats. I haven't weighed but based on previous truck and 5er weight and known dry weight on the 5er and shipping weight I'm 27,500 on the road. 13,500 towing, grades up to 10 percent, 9.5 gpm, try to cruise at 62mph. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

RE: BLM and Army Corp Campgrounds on a Map

There is a book that list all the USACE camprounds by state. Don't know of one for BLM but there may be one.

RE: convection microwave

I’ve had zero luck with the convection side of the microwave. Unless you’ve used convection before, it seems to me that it will take a lot of experimenting to figure it out. If it's all you have and your fulltime you read all you can about cooking with convection then find some simple recipes. The one thing I don't care for is how long it takes it to get up to temp.

RE: Why ABS instead of PVC?

Do what you want just use the correct adhesive. Are you on an on ramp or off ramp E, W, N, S,?
