Yeah, but consider who started the topic. And there's your problem, YOU!!

RE: What are the top 5 advantages of a TC?

Can't go anywhere unless you break camp...anywhere. Pfft. :P I drop mine everywhere. Everywhere. https://i.imgur.com/CQvfHRml.jpg :):) We had folks in our campground last week that dropped theirs, they do it all the time. They told me they have never been to a campground that wouldn't allow you to unload your camper.

RE: What are the top 5 advantages of a TC?

Feel free to add your list of the top 5 advantages of a TC. Here are mine. 1. Able to pull a significant trailer. 2. Can park in many parking lots, so it travels well. 3. Have my kitchen/bed/bathroom/bed with me. 4. Easy to get campground spaces due to short length. 5. Good for winter since it is on my 4 wheel drive truck I'm good with all 5. Someone either has a bone to pick with you or can't understand plain English. 1. I always wanted a TC. I had a TT and TC are just more versatile. 2. I like having my ATV on a trailer instead of in the bed of my PU. Makes it easy to unload to check out places rather than getting caught in some tight place where you can't turn around. 3. My current TC is PERFECT for me. 4. I like it. 5. I like it.

RE: Arctic Fox Says no off road????

I think the term off-road has a different meaning to a lot of people. To me a dirt road is not off-roading. Getting into tight twisty campsites doesn't bother me nearly as much as a really bad washboard road and they seem to be really bad this year.

RE: Any experience with a gas fire pit?

But, in the end... It's not so much what uses more... It's what type you prefer and what you are willing to do or not do to achieve that? I love a fire when camping but I don't think I'll go the expense of a LP fire pit. I went and checked some out and they look pretty nice but I don't think they are for me. https://i.postimg.cc/Wpnpb4dg/firewood.jpg I get my firewood for free. https://i.postimg.cc/Fzn2dw55/IMG-1232.jpg And its easy to take with me. One last camping trip scheduled for early Nov in the higher elevations. Maybe the fire restrictions will be lifted by then. No fire wont ruin my trip.

RE: Hauling a Honda 3000

I don't know about the price of the 2002 Generac back then, but right now mine is running along fine. I keep threatening to remove it at the first sign of a hiccup but it keeps purring. Just got back from a trip to the eastern Sierras. Ran fine, and was handy to just push the button and off it goes. Really it was no louder than any of the other generators being used during generator hours at the camp ground, and we had some pretty pricey rigs around us. https://i.postimg.cc/Twz9ZF4t/IMG-8574.jpg One of my favorite options. :B Soo easy even a caveman can start it. ;)

Onan seems to be better than Generac, who is $4500 worth piece of garbage. Generacs are $4500??

I don't have a generator compartment. https://i.postimg.cc/fRHmWrzv/IMG-8573crop.jpg I do. :B And I keep my generator in it. ;)

RE: Truck Camper Weight...I know, I know

On our last camping trip, I weighed my new since this January, 2019 Ram 3500 CTD DRW 4WD with a 2020 Host Cascade on it's back. Had an average load of gear and supplies. Full fuel, 75% full propane, empty waste tanks and about 10 gallons of fresh water. GVWR is 14000, I was at 14480. Front GAWR is 6000, I was at 5180. Rear GAWR is 9750, Here's a question: When a heavy haul company calls for a permit for a job, the permit office in our jurisdiction asks for tire sizes and axle configuration and spacing, total weight and dimensions. They then plan and give the route the carrier must use. Do you think they ask for verification of the GVWR/GCWR on the door sticker of the Kenworth and the jeep, lowbed, and boosters? Great comparison. :B What kind of safety margin do you think the manufactures have calculated into the GVW ratings? 5% 10% 15% 25%??? Or do they figure one pound over your truck will either break or wont stop?

RE: Best portable generators advise I have seen for years

Laughing...This falls right in with catalytic heaters..They are safe if used properly..Anyone who has ever installed or read there Onan owners manual will see a part that says... ONLY YOU CAN PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CO POISONING.. I totally agree. https://i.postimg.cc/43RFwPmz/stupid1.jpg

RE: Best portable generators advise I have seen for years

I witnessed it almost kill a dog a few years back on a big 5th wheel toy hauler. The built-in generator was running, exhaust was going right in the side window, and when they came back from lunch the dog was unresponsive on the floor. :(

RE: Best portable generators advise I have seen for years

...I don't see any difference in a factory installed generator in a TT, 5th wheel or TC. I'm sure everything would apply equally to each RV. Sounds like you never had a chance to compare? Generators on trailers are mounted low to the ground and can have long exhaust pipes that will direct exhaust long way from door and windows. Such setup is not possible on TC. How many people have died from the exhaust from factory installed generators?

RE: Best portable generators advise I have seen for years

My gasoline generator was factory installed with all of the proper techniques and it works great. I do use a Genturi to get the exhaust up and away when I use the generator for any length of time other than just monthly maintenance runs. I want that exhaust up and away from me as well as other campers near me. My CO detectors (2) are all in working order and current as well. What camper has factory gas generator? I know that Venturi vertical pipe is the only good way to go, but for "some" reasons it is not getting popularity. Any pictures? I apologize for my comment about my factory installed gasoline generator. I do have one, but it is in a 5th wheel not a TC. I should not have posted this comment here. I do love my gas generator however. No need to apologize. I don't see any difference in a factory installed generator in a TT, 5th wheel or TC. I'm sure everything would apply equally to each RV.

RE: What did you do to your Camper Today?

https://i.postimg.cc/4xb5CXQW/IMG-2745.jpg I unloaded it off my truck and let half the air out of my tires. :B That's the first time its been off since I loaded it back on March 15th. I had to unload it so I can make a 400 mile round trip to get two sheets of plywood. LOL https://i.postimg.cc/gjfzMH9y/IMG-2904.jpg I put my camper back on my truck today. I need it for work next week and I'm planning one more camping trip in early November. https://i.postimg.cc/44rH2zQF/IMG-2846.jpg Here's the two sheets of marine grade plywood I took my camper off to go get. Two 3/4" sheets, $219.00 :E
