RE: Generator dB rating

Westinghouse igen4500
$699 now on sale at Home depot. Electric startthat's what I have. We have lake property where we use it. Sits about 25-30' from camper, With the windows closed you have to listen for it. With windows open you can hear it, but it is no distraction. Thinking of putting a box around it. Then you probably would forget it's running. Gary

RE: lighter weight four down toad?

We tow a 2021 chevy spark manual transmission 4 down behind our class c. A little over2k lbs. And seriously if it were not for the rear camera I would not know it was back there. Had the base plate put on at etrailer. The car is small but gets 40mpg and works perfect for the 2 of us.

RE: ARE THERE ANY SNOWBIRDS ANYMORE?

DW stated emphatically that we were snowbirding in place this year!!:(
:( :( . But who can complain? Tomorrow will be a balmy 34 and then Saturday a sunny 32. I guess who needs Florida when Ohio has weather like this (:h)

RE: Fresh bread and other loves

Oh the bread. Very simple too. Go to Amazon for Artisan Bread in Five Minutes A Day.
The ingredients are:
- Six cups of warm water.
- 3 Tbsp Kosher Salt
- 4 Tbsp Yeast
- 13 cups of flour
The rest of the recipe (the technique) is too much to type.thanks, found the recipe

RE: Fresh bread and other loves

I didn't read cptqueeg's post very carefully. I thought it was you replying with your bread recipe. It was his(which I'm going to try). I was more interested in your bread recipe-that picture of the bread looked really good. I had thought awhile back, (when butter took a really big price jump), of making my own butter, but when I priced all the ingredients it was going to cost more to make than buying it, although it probably tastes better.

RE: Fresh bread and other loves

Where did you get the recipe, or could you post it here? I've been trying some different recipes found online and they were OK, but that looks really good. I don't have a kitchen aid mixer though, so the kneading has to be the old fashioned way. Gary

RE: US travel to Canada

Going from Canada to USA, on November 24, 2022, I had to have proof of vaccination for the USA border folks. We (both Canajun) crossed into USA on Nov 9, 2022. Did NOT have to have proof of vaccination. Mind you, we were in a truck lane by mistake. What is 'canajun" :h

RE: US travel to Canada

I’m pretty sure that’s over. We crossed both ways a few weeks ago.from what I'm reading in the link that Boon Docker sent you don't have to have proof of Vaccination or a negative test. Was that correct?

RE: US travel to Canada

Thanks boon docker. We had a trip to the Maritimes planned when the border was closed. DW said it's too cold to go now, but hopefully in the spring.(if gasoline is still halfway reasonable). Or maybe we'll head out in your direction, I think gas is a lot cheaper in Alberta than Nova Scotia.

US travel to Canada

Has Canada lifted the ban on visits for US citizens by auto? Is vaccination proof still required to enter?

RE: Alternative to bumper sewer hose carrier

I got a 4" piece of pvc about 6' long, put a cap on one end and a screw fitting on the other end and hose clamped it to the top of the rear bumper. Has worked great for me for over 20,000 miles of travelling. Replaced the hose clamps(screw type) once when they got a little rusty. Gary

RE: Alaska - 2023

Is Canada open for tourism yet? We had planned to do the Maritimes a couple years ago before the border closed. That sounds like one awesome trip!!!

RE: RV registration in SD

When I lived close to the Ohio, West Virgina border many WV residents would register their vehicles in Ohio to avoid the WV personal property tax. When WV finally caught onto this there was a big push to identify these residents, and when found, a hefty fine was the result. Does AZ have a personal property tax you're trying to avoid? If so I would be very careful, but if another reason, why not.

RE: Waste water totes for fresh water

Don't know exactly what you're looking for, but Rural King(if there are any near you) has a 35 gallon stand alone tank with the fill on top and a 2" drain on the bottom. Has no wheels, but would'nt take up much room in the back of a pick up. Search "ace roto mold". Maybe Tractor supply also. GaryOh Forgot-Rural king price about a hundred bucks, Tractor Supply a little more

RE: Booger welded some stuff on the rig today..

You call that welding???? You've got to be kidding!!! ;) No, seriously that is at least a hundred times better than I could do. I'm kind of like you(except for having no welding skills). If I can do it myself I'll do it, and who cares what it looks like. It works for me, and that's what counts. Good job. Gary
