RE: is there an easier-to-use sewer cap?

So how do you connect and disconnec the sewer hose after you take the cap off? Cause the sewer hose is going to be a lot dirtier then the outside of that cap. Try Soap and water.

RE: truck/trailer sway

Simple first step. Move some weight from behind the axle to in front of the axle (or eliminate it entirely - such as water in a tank behind the axle), which will increase your tongue weight, and see if that helps.

RE: Being hoodwinked by Store Clerks

So much for innocent until proven guilty. You we no proof the clerk did anything wrong. The card number could have been stolen by any number of people. Did that add anything to your story by blaming someone with zero proof? You got your money back - your whole - move on and stop assuming you know where the guilt lies. Could even have been merely keying in a wrong number.

RE: Tow weight

Correct, J2807 is based on full fluids, a 150 pound driver, and 10% tongue weight using a flat deck trailer with heavy weights adjusted to give the desired tongue weight. It's not at all representative of what real users tow or how most of us use our vehicles. I've talked to several people in the industry about a more realistic tow test using an average family of 4 with 2 teenagers and a few hundred in the bed and a max frontal area but because it would result on smaller numbers everyone has said it would never fly as marketing would kill it. Honestly I think the test they do, especially the 11 mile Davis dam test is much harder and more demanding than the normal person would pull. Over 3000 feet of elevation over a short 11 mile stretch going a minimum of 40 mph. So for example, if the 2020 Silverado pulled the 9500 lbs through that stretch of elevation and demand without any issues, I would say that pulling 7000 to 7500 lbs would be no issue. And they actually use a 150 lb passenger as well on their runs. But they are not pulling a wall through the air. As has been said, for RVs, tow weight is basically useless as you will not hit that number before running out of payload. Tow weight is fine if you are pulling a flatbed full of lumber. Build a front facing wall from that lumber and the result is totally different. They do test the frontal area, from 12 sft through 60 sft - Read the Standard so you know the facts instead of relying on hearsay.

RE: Coleman Grill

If turning the control knobs don't adjust the flame - then you've found the problem. Call Coleman and see if they are replaceable.

RE: Constant Convertor?

Mine runs all the time. Been like that since day 1 over 4 years ago. Some times it runs faster or slower depending on load.

RE: Tow weight

keep in mind fully loaded that trailer can be as much as 7900 lbs. (it has a decent amount of carrying capacity at 2865) giving you a tongue weight almost 1200 lbs..... depending how you load it (and the rest of your stuff) you can likely do it but i would expect a less than enjoyable towing experience. i would suggest buying the best hitch and sway control you can afford. another thing not mentioned here is to make sure your brakes are up to snuff as that 3.3 is going to struggle to hold the weight back with compression coming down hill. Very true and i would not max out the trailer with cargo. I would take a separate vehicle to help with cargo as we only want it for a seasonal type campground to go to each year. So I would def keep the numbers low.Put everything you can in the trailer, it only adds 12% to the tongue weight. 100 pounds put in the trailer instead of the truck only adds 12 lbs to the tongue weight, you save 88 lbs of payload.

Don't worry about the experience, all they want you to do is clean toilets and pickup trash.

RE: Without getting political....

So let me see if I got this right. Not protecting the flag from dark and weather is disrespecting the flag. But failing to stand and take your hat off as the national anthem is played is not. As a matter of fact, one could choose to kneel immediately upon entering the field, 20 seconds before kick-off, at half time, or at any one of hundreds of other times; but the fact one chooses to kneel at the moment of the playing the national anthem says exactly what they itended it to say. Going the opposite direction of the way one goes in honoring the flag; and the same as the way you were taught.

I don't know about your's, but on mine all I need to-do is switch out the bars when I tow a lighter trailer; the head is the same.

RE: RVing with no mechanical capability

If you pulled a drawer out and the handle was loose could you tighten the screw and make it tight again? Can you take a tire off and hut the spare on? That's about the extent of anything I've ever needed to fix on the road.
