RE: Dude! Where's my tow truck?

I think the activation of the low oil pressure light was designed to provide an explanation as to why the engine has seized tight. Best install a pressure gauge and occasionally glance at the needle position.

RE: dog food for old dog

I put my Shitzus on a home made diet several months ago and so happy I did, both seniors. I have heard the dangers of salmonella so I scramble a couple of eggs and ad it to the mix every 4th day rather than raw. Chances of a dog getting salmonella likely pretty low though.

RE: RV Vinyl Trim Insert Sizing

I bought the 1" Camco about 5 years ago and it may have been too wide. I had to choose a hot day to bend it in but it works great. When you get it if it seems to be on the wide side, put it in anyway. Looks Great! Brian Hi Brian, thanks, hot days are no problem, may be to hot to go on the roof!

RE: RV Vinyl Trim Insert Sizing

I purchased a roll from my local dealership and replaced all the trim on my previous TT when it began cracking and breaking because it got so brittle. I think I paid something like, $12 for a 100 foot roll. I took a piece of the old trim that wasn't cracked to my dealership parts store and they matched it, off the shelf. I replaced everything on the camper and still have, probably 50 feet left. It's white, but the trim on my current camper is all black now. When you begin to insert the trip, start with one side and lay it in the track about a foot long. Then pinch the trim and insert the very end into the other side of the track. Once started, you can just pinch in the middle and slide right down the track. Cut to length only after you've inserted it. The biggest problem I had was the tail dangling, and it wanted to uncoil all twisted. Then, I did it it 5-6 foot sections over the gutters area and would have to move the ladder again. So the roll was laid on the roof so it wouldn't pull out what I just inserted. It was easy, but a bit frustrating until you get the hang of it. After I caught on how to do it, the rest went very fast. As stated above, don't stretch it. That's why pinching in the middle and just letting it self insert works so well. After it was inserted, I waited about 10 minutes before I cut to length at the ends, and then I left the ends about 6 inches longer to allow for some shrinkage after the immediate install. After a few more minutes, I trim back the 6 inches, leaving and extra inch and tuck it under. The little end caps screwed on top of the fold. Good luck, and have fun. It's an easy job, just a bit tiring working from a ladder for almost everything so long. Thanks for the great tips Dutchsmansport, looking forward to doing it, should make a big difference!

RE: RV Vinyl Trim Insert Sizing

Make sure you don’t stretch it at all when you install, otherwise the first cold day it will shrink. Thanks Chris, would hate for that to happen!

RE: RV Vinyl Trim Insert Sizing

Since you plan on replacing it pull it out of the track near the end and get a true measurement. Look at your end points as you may need to order some lapseal for the roof and proflex for the body ends. Ok thanks the trim I just pulled back is 1 inch in width. So then thats the size I need then just was not sure if they measured by the exposed trim size or the complete trim size including whats inserted into the track Thanks bob213

RV Vinyl Trim Insert Sizing

Hi the vinyl trim that covers the aluminum track on my older motorhome needs changing. Camco on Amazon lists 3/4" 1" and 1 1/4" My question be it likely a no brainer but from my attatched picture should I be ordering which size? Unsure if measured by the exposed size of the whole width of the insert including the bit that fits into the slots Thanks and have a great upcoming weekend! https://i.imgur.com/BkSGqFhl.jpg

RE: The best camping spots are free.

Not like it was at one time. Forest access roads are gated or large boulders or logs blocking the way. Once upon a time the wild life was the biggest danger. A bear or cougar may approach, a skunk may appear. Now chances of a cracked out lunatic approaching is the big concern. The vehicle pulling beside you at night now may not just be travelers looking to go pee or read a map...

RE: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Hi hoping everyone is doing ok. Thought I should come by because I'm kindof stumped on whats going on with my 1977 Dodge B300 again. Been having a brake pedal not returning problem for awhile and just now got to addressing the situation. Pulling back the pedal with my foot released the brakes no problem. Today I installed a new master cylinder and brake booster and still brake pedal not returning. I greased all the pedal linkage at an earlier date but never was the problem. The front calipers are new as well as the rear drums with the whole brake kit was installed last year. I have not bled the brakes yet as I run out of time and have not started it because battery was dead and had no cables. So my question at this point is would not bleeding the brakes cause a non returning peddle? I'm doubting it but at a loss as to why no peddle is not returning still. I adjusted the booster rod to what I think is good several times but not in possession of the proper measuring device, I simply backed of the rod just a bit from where it contacted the master cylinder Thanks When was the last time the brake system was expertly flushed, refilled, and re-bled? (I'm guessing never ... and they should be flushed at least every 10 years, preferably every 5 years.) Hi Griff The system was flushed last fall and again today and bled after the install of new booster and master cylinder. All seems good now. Thanks

Hi 1977 B300 Brake problem, peddle does not return without the assistance of my foot pulling it back. edit: wish to delete post but can't. I have just found the posts back in this thread I previously posted on my braking troubles and will consult them. Been awhile.

RE: Shitzu with heart murmur

For what it is worth....and maybe some encouragement....We had a 5 year old Dalmatian that was diagnosed with a heart murmur. We were devastated. But, she lived a solid life to the age of 14 1/2. Wishing for the best for you. That's worth a lot...a whole lot, thank you!

RE: Shitzu with heart murmur

We had to put ours down this past summer after keeping her going for 4 years with the same problem. The vet did check-ups every 6 months or so and we put her on prescription meds. As the murmur got worse we had to increase the dose. Towards the end we had to also add a water pill to help keep the lungs clear. Better to get her on the meds soon to help keep the progression at a slower rate. As the leakage got worse we had to keep her really calm or she would go into a seizure. Bob, so very sorry to hear this.

RE: Shitzu with heart murmur

We also had that diagnosed in our golden retriever recently. Diagnosed as a grade 2. She had an echocardiogram that found a slight narrowing in a heart vessel. No treatment or restrictions needed at this time. We did start her on a Taurine supplement. What grade was found in your dog? That will determine the treatment and any restrictions. Hi thanks for your response and sorry your retriever has such a condition. We just got our Shitzu (Pasqually) back from the vet today where hes been treated for an abscess on his leg. The vet found the murmur but we have yet to get the testing for it. We feel the estimate of $915.00 to be rather high and are looking for a different price. {Radiology, Ultrasound) We have also read positive reviews on Taurine. Thanks So unsure at this time, affordability for one.

Shitzu with heart murmur

Hi my 7 year old Shitzu has a heart murmur. Wondering if anyone here has had any experience with their dog having a heart murmur and what they did for treatment of the murmur. We would much rather put him on a natural homeopathic treatment as the reviews I have seen on the internet seem positive, but its the internet, rather here from some of you folks here. Thanks for any advice!
