RE: Trans Labrador Highway

We will cross to NFLD at Blanc Sablon. This will be our second trip across Canads/USA. In 2008 we had a truck camper and towed our new MX5 Miata on a car dolly. Worked really well - 18,000 kms on the truck and 6,500 on the car. We want the car because I don't want the use the MH for sightseeing. We went to NFLD last time, and across to Quebec/Labrador for one day, and want to spend more time in the province. Martin

RE: Trans Labrador Highway

Thanks to all for the comments. Much appreciated. I don't drive very fast at the best of times so going slow will be natural for me. We are planning to rent a satellite phone for the planned 3 month duration of our trip, and I will look into protection for the toad. Just the fact that dcason is planning to do the trip again is encouraging. As mentioned, our trip is for 2020 and I will be looking for more info. before we set out. Thanks again. Martin

Trans Labrador Highway

We are planning to take the Trans Labrador Highway from Quebec to Red Bay next year, probably early September. We have a 25' class A mh and tow a car on a car dolly. I contacted a fellow in the PR department of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and he advised that the road from Quebec to HVGB was now completely paved. Also that the road from HVGB to Red Bay was paved except for about 220km and that they planned to pave another 100km in 2019. More paving planned for 2020, so we are thinking there will not be much gravel left by the time we get there. The PR guy said also that they get a lot of RV's thru the area. Has anyone on the forum traveled this route recently. And if so, I would be very interested in any comments you may have. Thanks. Martin
