RE: Michigan to Yellowstone and back

According to their site, Fishing Bridge RV Park is closed for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Keith My bad, didn't realize they were to be closed in 2020 as well.

RE: Michigan to Yellowstone and back

I would take I-80 west to Ogalalla, NE, then 26 thru Casper to Shoshoni then 20 to Thermopolis and 120 to Cody. Unless you're going this year why would you not stay at Fishing Bridge within the park?

RE: I need help picking a location..

I would suggest Smokey's over Outer Banks. Outer Banks are awesome but with a 2 1/2yo the ocean can be overpowering pretty quickly in that area. We love staying near Townsend TN. Very close to Cade's Cove. Our favorite campground is the KOA(i'm not a KOA fan) in Townsend. Sites right on the river, which is more like a creek unless it rains heavy.

RE: Moab Campgrounds

We stayed at Archview, north of town very little traffic. Easy access to Arches National Park. Across road from road to Canyonlands NP and Dead Horse State park. We thought it was a perfect location, had clean restrooms and a small pool. Gas station was overpriced but available. 10 minutes to town and the rat race.

RE: Ann Arbor, MI campgrounds

Detroit/Greenfield, located in Ypsilanti, is your best bet IMHO. But depends on where in AA you are going. During rush hour there is traffic but not anything to worry about. You'll hit traffic no matter where you stay near AA. Just travel between 9am and 4pm or after 6.

RE: Yosemite/Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Parks

You might think about renting a condo or Air BnB near Fresno. An hour or so commute to Kings and Sequoia a couple hours to Yosemite. Would save a lot on meals etc. We are headed to San Francisco next week and planning a day trip to Yosemite.

RE: I 77 South through WV & Virginia in November

Keep a keen eye on the forecast, we hit snow in April a few years back. Just a squall moving through but enough to cover the road before we could find an exit. Not fun.

RE: Shenandoah National Park in April

We're currently looking for something low key, inexpensive, and 600 miles or less from home to keep to 1 day of driving. National Parks are a plus because I'm a National Park junkie. Shenandoah fits the bill. of course you know, your 10yo is in 4th grade, wink wink.

US-23 South, Michigan to ???

We are heading to Charleston SC from Southeast Michigan. Thinking about taking US-23 as far as I can until I need to cut over to get to Charleston. I've driven it as far south as Columbus OH, anyone have any insights beyond Columbus?

RE: Swamp boat tours in Louisiana

We did swamp tour in Breaux Bridge. Cajun Country Swamp tour I think. There were 3 different ones in close proximity. Not air boats, but saw tons of gators and other wildlife. Boats seated 10-12 I think. We went mid summer first thing in morning and there were only 7 including us 5. They had a Groupon discount a couple years ago when we went.

RE: Ft. Worth to Niagara Falls (Road Trip, No Trailer)

Memphis - St.Judes, Elvis, Underground RR Museum Nashville - Lower Broadway, Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry St Louis - Arch, Budweiser brewery tour, Clydesdale Farm Branson - tourist trap, but if you're into that kind of thing Louisville - Louisville Slugger tour

RE: Huntington Beach State Park SC area questions

Check out Groupon for a discount to Brookgreen. Saved us a significant amount on admission. This was a couple years back.

RE: Awning tie downs straps

I have the poles and tie downs linked in a prior post. I put it out, tie it down and leave it out. That's why I have an awning. If it gets destroyed my insurance is paid up.

RE: Good place for base camp at 4 corners

We stayed at Mesa Verde RV Resort(not Ancient Cedars/Mesa Verde RV Park). Very nice, quiet park a mile down the road from Mesa Verde National Park.

RE: St Louis West/Historic Route 66 KOA Campground

We've stayed at Cahokia RV Park a couple times. It's nothing special, but we were there to see the sights not the campground. Very convenient to St. Louis.

RE: Nashville

The place to park downtown is south(I think) of Nissan stadium near the foot bridge over the river. Just a short walk across the river and you're a block from lower Broadway and the HOF. The price is what everyone is looking for, free.
