RE: How do you manage without a toad?

we did the first year, not more than 2 hours from home, rented cars. It's doable, but it can be a pain depending on where you go. One trip to a place only 90 minutes from home the nearest rental place was 45 miles from the park. Before the year was out I bought a toad. A 2013 Chevrolet Sonic hatchback. Tows easy behind the Minnie winnie 31K and is easy set up.....just put the key in ACC and the transmission in neutral and away you go.. For me the only heart burn was getting rid of my 08 Silverado 2500 which I used to tow the 30ft TT. Since I wasnt going to tow that monster it was a no brainer to sell it and purchase the Sonic. Bottom line for me is that I would not go without a toad

RE: Looking for MH on Chevy Chassis

Thanks for all the comments. To those of you who have the Chevy's what is the instrument package like....I had a 2008 Silverado 2500 that I used to tow my TT, I loved that instrument package and its capabilities, the Ford pacakge in my 2017 Winnebago is bare bare bones.....that along with the doghouse is really what is driving my thought to trade. The caveat to the trade is the kitchen with a pantry. The Minnie is a 2017 31K and the kitchen is really what sold the wife, for me it was the Winnebago quality....i could go with a differnt manufacturer the caveat is the wife WILL NOT give up the size of the kitchen and the pantry....so my hunt will be difficult.......

RE: Direct TV Distant Network Service

I submitted a new DNS Waiver request 6 weeks ago because "my previous one was expired". They just told me my waiver was denied (I told them I had at least two previous waivers with no problem). When I asked the CR why she said the networks denied it..all five of them? When she tried to connect me to DNS people I was disconnected because their account service assistance stopped right then for the night (10:00 P.M. Mtn Time). I will call back tomorrow but wondering: Have any other folks been "routinely" denied the DNS waiver lately? Sounds fishy to me. Thanks Hank Custer SD 2005 Mandalay DP 2012 Honda CRV Winegard Travl'r Auto Satellite Dish Guys, I am not a techie and some of this such as DNS is into the weeds for me. I have Directv and am staring to worry about rumored changes. I understand "locals" and when I travel in my MH I take 2 receivers from home with me and when I get where im going, if its out of my normal-at home viewing area, i call Directv and do an service address change...i get locals....then when I get home i do a service address change back to home address. I have never had a problem doing this. What am I missing? What you are missing is it is much more convenient to have the DNS locals out of New York or Los Angeles if you move over and over and over again throughout the year as a full or nearly full, timer. I can't imagine having to call Directv every time we move from one spot beam area to another. By the way, we are still on the same DNS waiver we submitted back in 2000 with our first motorhome. We like to get the locals in the area where we are, not much interested in New York or LA. We camp once a month and then one long 6 - 8 weeks in Aug-Sep, I probably only make 3 calls during that time.

Florida for the Winter

Thinking of going to FL in 2020, say Jan thru Mar. I lived in the Ft. Laud area most all my life and have family in that area...so would like to be in Palm Beach or Broward. Looking for campgrounds that would have winter or monthly rates. Any info would be really appreciated. Pls no commentary about searching the site.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q190/Bonishphoto/FE9A6945.jpg Installed a Flat Panel in our Bedroom http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q190/Bonishphoto/FE9A6946.jpg width=640 It has a built in DVD so that saved space and kept wires to a minimum. This is great for laying in bed and watching a movie, and also keeps the walk-around space to a minimum. Pat www.everymilesamemory.com Wondering how to put one of these in on a flat wall with no stud close by, need to put a TV on a wall but don't want to bolt through the wall to the bath room. Everymile, what brand of tv did you use...the built in dvd would be very useful
