RE: One year old Furrion radio will not turn on

The screen on mine goes blank from time to time. I press the little reset button on it. Tiny hole on the front. Worth a try.

RE: Thoughts on Cougar 364bhl vs Reflection 311BHS

We have a reflection 323bhs, very similar without the second bath. Love it. Customer service has been very good to us. I haven't had to fix a lot of stuff. We did have a leak in the floor of a slide last fall but GD paid some of the labor even though it was 3 years old and they sent me new decals for my nose cone.

RE: Air Conditioning Problems

Our unit is 3 yrs old and I just had an HVAC guy look at it. Domestic brand. He had to add a bunch of refrigerant. Had to add a piece to be able to do it. Much cooler now and no freezing up anymore.

RE: Level on sloped campsites. How? Unique to 5er's

I always put 2 6x6 blocks under the legs then lower the extenders some. I try not to have a lot of extenders out, I feel it allows more shake in camper. Keeping in mind do I need to to raise or lower the nose when I am finally in hooked. This has worked for me everywhere I have been, inclisites much worse than that. Also, if something goes wrong with the motor it's a lot less cranking by hand to get them up.

RE: Hershey Pa rv show

Great place to see a lot of floor plans. Don't believe anything the salesman say, I swear they put cleaning people in sales shirts for the shows.

RE: Resort Campgrounds 2-3 hrs outside NYC?

Depending on the age of the kids, kneobels has two campgrounds one on site with the amusement park and the other has a shuttle. Not really resort type but 12 and under will really enjoy the park.

RE: Where to place campground stickers?

We get personalized magnets made online with pics of us and friends from each trip and put them on our outdoor kitchen fridge. Very nice way to remember past trips and see the kids grow.

2nd AC unit worth it?

We have a 38ft Grand design reflection. In the three years of using it the AC never seems to keep up when in site that's full sun, which happens more than I would like. Thinking about putting a 2nd unit in front bedroom, already wired according to sticker in hatch. Looking for thoughts before we pull the trigger. Thanks

RE: Chevy DEF system failure

My 2014 F-350 threw the same code, however I was told it would not be covered by warranty. I drove for another year and a half with no issue.

RE: Price per mile

Op here I saw an add on Craigslist looking for someone to haul a camper to a location close to some family property and thought I could make a little money and stop by the property.

Price per mile

What is a reasonable price to charge to haul a fifth wheel? I was thinking 2-2.50.

RE: Wilkins RV Bath Ny service

Op back. Sorry about name, changed it. It is Wilkins RV. There are four locations but I have only dealt with the Bath location. I found yet another part that I was charged for but was not replaced. I agree with those that it is fraud and I do believe it is their SOP and here is why. Years ago I had my unit detailed there in and out. When I picked it up the interior was never cleaned, oh here's a $50 gift card, dumb me ok. Another time I had created a boo boo in back wall and insurance paid to replace the wall. The tech put the ladder on crooked so I settled for bigger plastic discs under mounts to cover up the holes and they paid my deductible. Who knows how much they overcharged the insurance company. I know what many are thinking, this guy's an idiot for going back and I agree but here was my thought. This leak seamed to be caused by a poorly installed factory trim and I thought it would be easier to get Grand Design to help cover some if I went back to my dealer of purchase. However, I was the one that contacted GD and they supposedly did good will 8 hours of labor. I'm trying to confirm that with them. I will do a review every where I can and I am going to file with the Attorney General office.

Wilkins RV Bath Ny service

Long story short. Took our FW back to dealer to replace the floor of a slide out that had water damage from a faulty trim piece on the bottom corner. After 4 months they tell me it's ready for pick-up. I get there and the bill is 600+ more than last statement I received. I paid the bill as maybe my mind was wrong. Went out to hook up and check repairs, within 10 seconds of getting slide open I realized the faulty trim piece was reinstalled AND still open to allow water to flooring. Service advisor offered a rebate to make me happy but I said I needed to investigate more. After diving in to bill and 'repair' I found they changed the number of hours from bill to bill, charged for more plywood than needed and charged to change carpet with new but the old was still in RV. And many other issues of poor workmanship. When I spoke to manager, he also offered a rebate and to 'fix' the problems. I refused their fix as I believe they are breaking the law by fraudulent charges. Finally got a call from the owner and he has fully reimbursed our bill, but now I will wait on the check. Just wanted to make sure others are aware of their performance and billing practice, check your bills if you have been there and Mark parts before you go if you're planning on having them do work for you.

RE: Dealer says slide arm bent

Update, dealership service contact talked with the tech and since no one can truly say if it was bent before it entered their shop, they are going to take care of the repair. I'm impressed but I will be closely looking things over when I go to pick it up.

Dealer says slide arm bent

We have a 2016 Grand design reflection FW which I took to our dealer, Wilkins Rv Bath NY, to have a leak fixed in the bottom of our slide out. A trim piece at the bottom of the side of the slide, somehow became rippled and out of the trim that covers it. Of course it was perfectly located at the edge of the rubber trim coming vertically along the camper. So it funnelled water into the edge of the floor. We never noticed the floor wet but in the humid and wet fall we had I noticed a white mold type growth on the carpet, then I found the flaw. I'm pretty good about checking roof lines but never thought to also check these bottom trim pieces but I will now. Anyway dealership and I worked at getting grand design to help pay for something out of warranty covered and they did cough up for half the labor. But now, floor is replaced and tech has adjusted slide room but says the slide room is jumping when going out because the tube is bent. Of course the extended warranty will only cover it if it's broken not bent...I know they are a waste of money but I guess I had to try it myself to realize. Is it reasonable to think the slide arm was bent during the process of fixing the floor? Or could it have been that way due to the floor being swelled? I never noticed anything when we put the slide out. Thoughts?

RE: Greatest Weight You’ve Ever Towed
