RE: Elk County PA area campgrounds

I agree with Lynmor. I have stayed there and it is very basic but works well. We had elk walk by as we were getting dinner ready. Later in the summer would allow the elk horns to be formed on the bulls.

RE: Closing campgrounds and no where to go

My family has a spot that has old trailer that we are going to tear down. Come north to Brackney, Pa. We'll set you up til winter.

RE: Pennsylvania Route Recommendations

As others said, not sure the north south level of travel but another option if more north would be I 86 in NY and hair a few Western sites then angle down through pa. Pa elk herd is cool to see, St Mary's or benezette area but not much else there. Kneobles is great, we always stay at their off site campground, much more space, lake glory.

RE: f350, 6.7

I had a 12, put 100,000 miles. Traded for a 16, currently have 36,000 on it. Never had any issues with either.

RE: A/C Cover

I agree with the bolts bring loose. We had a new AC put on the front of our 5er and only leaked for me and not dealer. Finally, realized it was loose and shifted slightly in travel which allowed it to leak only sometimes.

RE: What is the purpose of low point drains?

So, I use the pink stuff and then pull the low point drains. Last couple years I've had to take rig for a drive after. I imagine a fair amount of pink stuff works out of lines. No purpose to doing it that way but figure it doesn't matter.

RE: Camping etiquette

OP here. The campground was designed to be facing each other. The shared space was getting smaller and smaller on our side. There was no communication from the other site that they were just going to eat and disperse, if so it would have been a bit more tolerable. The first night the campground was very relaxed and we didn't hear much from anywhere else. This KOA was not a resort, very basic amenities and I did try some mom and pop places nearby but all were full. We teach our son and his cousins that camp with us to be respectful of other campers sites, never cut through, keep noise level down and play with other kids in the campground in the common areas unless invited by the kid into their site. He was sitting there watching in disbelief of the others actions. Our biggest fear was it was going to be an all night thing and we wouldn't have the owners support at that late time. Also, these were all campers at the campground, no visitors. They were either tenting, rving or had a cabin elsewhere on the campground.

Camping etiquette

We stayed this weekend at Allentown KOA. This is not a bad little campground except for almost all of the sites face each other. I understand the logistical end of doing this since it does give a bigger space between them. However, there is no privacy. Even worse if the people across from you decide to have at least 30 people come to dinner. They moved 2 tables from other sites. We had people try to sit at our fire, in our chairs, a kid try to play with our sons toys on our table and even some lady ask me why I was sitting at my table. Apparently, she thought I was her husband. After complaining, the owner did talk to them and they said they would be done in a half hour. An hour or so later it was down to ten or so. Truly losing common sense and basic camping etiquette. Done ranting.

RE: Rt 7 in Vermont?

We did rt 4 from I89 to lake George area this summer and it wasn't bad. A little hilly around Killington. 38' 5er. No low bridges.

RE: One year old Furrion radio will not turn on

The screen on mine goes blank from time to time. I press the little reset button on it. Tiny hole on the front. Worth a try.

RE: Thoughts on Cougar 364bhl vs Reflection 311BHS

We have a reflection 323bhs, very similar without the second bath. Love it. Customer service has been very good to us. I haven't had to fix a lot of stuff. We did have a leak in the floor of a slide last fall but GD paid some of the labor even though it was 3 years old and they sent me new decals for my nose cone.

RE: Air Conditioning Problems

Our unit is 3 yrs old and I just had an HVAC guy look at it. Domestic brand. He had to add a bunch of refrigerant. Had to add a piece to be able to do it. Much cooler now and no freezing up anymore.

RE: Level on sloped campsites. How? Unique to 5er's

I always put 2 6x6 blocks under the legs then lower the extenders some. I try not to have a lot of extenders out, I feel it allows more shake in camper. Keeping in mind do I need to to raise or lower the nose when I am finally in hooked. This has worked for me everywhere I have been, inclisites much worse than that. Also, if something goes wrong with the motor it's a lot less cranking by hand to get them up.

RE: Hershey Pa rv show

Great place to see a lot of floor plans. Don't believe anything the salesman say, I swear they put cleaning people in sales shirts for the shows.

RE: Resort Campgrounds 2-3 hrs outside NYC?

Depending on the age of the kids, kneobels has two campgrounds one on site with the amusement park and the other has a shuttle. Not really resort type but 12 and under will really enjoy the park.

RE: Where to place campground stickers?

We get personalized magnets made online with pics of us and friends from each trip and put them on our outdoor kitchen fridge. Very nice way to remember past trips and see the kids grow.

2nd AC unit worth it?

We have a 38ft Grand design reflection. In the three years of using it the AC never seems to keep up when in site that's full sun, which happens more than I would like. Thinking about putting a 2nd unit in front bedroom, already wired according to sticker in hatch. Looking for thoughts before we pull the trigger. Thanks
