RE: Rear Deck Patio - Aftermarket rails

I have always thought of these as special need or useless. I watch the one with the side porch this allows you to do the Grey Poupon thing with you neighbor in most rv parks. As for the one on the back you can watch you neighbors TV if you wish. I've always worked to be out of the TT as that is why we RV. If I wanted to be couped up I would've stayed home! Soon to go for a campfire and dogs & beer........ camping. On the west coast we have some campgrounds where the rear of the trailer hangs over the beach. Beach front property! Watching the sunsets are aweesome. So much for the sand between your toes eh? Most of the beach campsites don't actually open up to the beach. Our beach camps are always up on a bluff overlooking the beaches. The party patio is a great way to open up the garage and fill the room with sea air and watch the sun set. I've set up my laptop out there and put in plenty of uninterrupted billable hours on the veranda. It sure beats an office. Silver Strand on Coronado is great!

RE: Rear Deck Patio - Aftermarket rails

Don't skimp on the support cables. Earlier this summer a friend of mine was standing on his ramp holding his grandbaby and the motorcycle tie-down straps he was using broke. He and the baby rolled down the ramp, but he held on and protected the kid all the way down. Could have been a disaster. These ramps are a huge lever and put crazy stress on the supports. My cables are factory. But the toddler fence or xpens sounds like a temp fix until I find a good deal on rails.

RE: Rear Deck Patio - Aftermarket rails

By the way, my door is the same door used for patios. Just doesnt have the rails. Cables, no rails.

RE: Rear Deck Patio - Aftermarket rails

Lippert sells the rails but says only to dealers. One other thing, your door is not the same door used for patios. It lacks a sheet of metal over the plywood. You've seen my door? Spooky.....

Rear Deck Patio - Aftermarket rails

Has anyone seen an aftermarket rail system to convert your TH rear door into a patio? I've been doing a lot of searching but not finding any products. New or used.

RE: Financing for used toy hauler.

Thanks for your responses. I have talked with the local credit union. I have also googled it. But in thought I would also ask here because many of you may have better experiences with finance companies other than local CU. No better reviews than asking existing customers.

Financing for used toy hauler.

Found a used toy hauler and need suggestions or recommendations for some good finance companies. Low rates, good to deal with, etc Cant afford a new rig and the one I found is like new condition (2016) and will need to finance. Any advice from the RV family here?

RE: Heartland Cyclone 3100

Thanks for the info. The cyclone sold before I could make up my mind. A local dealer has a 2015 Jayco Seismic 310W. Looks to be in great shape. I havent combed over it but will go back and take a closer look. A friend is the GSM and he gave me a price under 30k. Not sure if that's good or not but will do some research. Not in a big hurry. Dont want to jump in too fast without research and thorough inpection.

RE: Wow! Dealer Comments!

Yes. We have searched on RV Trader. Just thought we would give the closest guy a chance. And we arent upset they didnt match the price. It's the way the guy spoke to us after we didnt take his deal. Big or small, you dont treat customers that way.

RE: Wow! Dealer Comments!

It is customary that the selling dealer is the only one that will take any interest in your warranty work. They have to do all the leg work and negotiations with the manufacturer, ie, providing pictures and getting approval for the repairs, multiple phone calls, and parts ordering. On top of that they have to do the repairs at a discounted rate paid by the manufacturer. Therefore the reason for not wanting to mess with other dealers products. I think the salesman is playing hard ball on the price. I would be willing to bet that you would get a call within a week accepting a lower offer. Dont get intimidated, that's what they like. Take your time and keep looking. The best time to buy is December. Sales are slow and they will be hungry. But it's the same dealer. Just a different location. If you are a national chain you should be good with doing warranty work on a unit bought at any location in your national chain. If that dealer isnt good with that, dont be stupid and toss out some blackmail shenanigans to push the sale. Maybe corporate needs to do some Undercover Boss visits to see the BS their dealers spew out of their mouths.

Wow! Dealer Comments!

So we are looking at a new 5'r and have a model all picked out that will serve us well. We are ready to buy right away. We found a national chain that had the exact model (same year) we want at two different locations in the same state, just hours apart. One location is a lot closer to us. We got a price from each location. One price was lower than the other. We asked the higher dealer (very close to home) to match the lower price since it's a national chain. They said no because the other locations model was older.... Uhhh, they are both 2019 models. Sales manager said yeah but the build date on their unit is a couple months older than ours. Ours is a newer model. We said, you guys are a national chain and you can't price match your own prices on the identical unit?? They are both 2019. A couple months difference in build date does not make one a newer model. I understand a few bucks in shipping charges maybe.. He said well we arent going to price match. We said OK we will buy at the other location.... Then he says..... well if you dont buy from my location, you can expect to be put at the back of the line when it comes to any warranty work or maintenance work. You will not be a priority here. WTH??? Is this guy serious? Does he really work here or were we on a hidden camera show?? At that point we walked out. My better half fired off an email to their corporate letting them know what this jackwagon said to us. Within an hour we had a phone call from them wanting to make this right and asking what they could do to make it right... We missed the call and havent called back. Not sure what we will say as we are pretty pissed off to treated that way. What an experience....

RE: B&W Companion Slider 20k, used, thoughts??

The previous owner was very nice and a stand up guy. He said he used it twice. Maybe has 300 miles on it and I believe it. It will serve me well.
