RE: Another Ford that needs to be bagged - or a dually?

Typical of a lifted suspension. Man that trailer must be 43ishfeet long.
Exactly. The springs on lift kits are soft. His tires probably aren't rated for that weight either.

RE: Roof replacement

If you saw the condition of my 20 year old truckbed liner, you'd consider this too. Rhino or LineX.

The service you get when needed will probably match that of what you are getting from them now.

Turn on your stovetop. Got propane running through it? That is where you start.

Looks like a trash pump. More parts used, more parts to break. Uses more space too.

RE: Securing black water tank

A nice thick gauge metal strapping with a couple of self tapping screws to secure the strapping to the frame rails. That's the way most travel trailers are done at least.
Ditto. You can find strapping material with the joist hangers and other hardware @ HD and Lowes. Get something at least an inch wide. They have holes drilled in them too.

RE: Busted!

The first thing you do is drive around the whole city taking pictures of every trailer parked "illegally". Present them, one by one, to the city council. Ask why YOU are being singled out. Show them a detailed plot map of your property, with elevations, so they understand what you would be up against if you decide to locate it in the rear.
I was told I could not install vinyl windows in a home in a historical district. I showed them over 100 pictures of similar homes in the area with replacement windows. I won my case, easily, saving my customers over $5,000 in the process. Who says you can't fight city hall?

RE: Trip report: Boondocking in Mojave Desert -- blog post

Too many people think the desert is just a mass of nothingness. 85% of SoCal residence have never visited this this area. 4 wheeling out there is an incredible eye opener.

RE: Least expensive roof coating? ~ epdm compatible ?

Heng's Rubber Roof Coating. It goes on like paint, holds up well and needs no primer.
I used 2 1/2 gallons to put two coats on 30' of roof.

It looks like the nonessential stores are really essential.
Call a truck tire shop. They are all open. They can get tires 24/7.

RE: Starting engine with dead key fob

I will tell you another thing about some if not all Fords.
There is a Fuel Cut off designed to shut off fuel to the engine in the event of an "EVENT" This Event may be a fender bender or .. Well for me it was a pot hole. Blew a tire and tripped the )[email protected]#$23 switch... NOW you need to RTFM to find where it is but on the Mercury Tracer Wagon it's in a "Hidden" compartment in the back of the back near the fender well.. I knew where to find it so no problem when it triped... but I can't tell you how many times I called over to Enterprise Customer service for someone who did not have their manual and did not know where the blasted button was for a Ford Product. (Enterprise has manuals for everything they rent. They Rent a number of Fords. and rather like that Michigan State Police often recover vehicles for them.
Reminds me of a Harley I sold a guy. They have ignition kill switches on the FOB. The dude put the FOB in his pocket and drove off. An hour later, I get a call. The bike shut off on a freeway offramp. I'm thinking he did something really stupid to the bike and seized the motor. I'm thinking it through and ask him about the FOB. Yeah. Saved the day and the hour it would have taken to drive down there to check out the bike.

RE: Ideal RV space size for new park?

I want to be able to open my slide, extend my awning, and still have "my space". I want a small fire ring. I love pull-throughs, but, angled back-ins will work fine too. A nice shower, with ample room for personal belongings, and enough hot water for my wife to wash her hair & that does not cost an arm and a leg. I don't care if I have full hook-ups, but water and electric would be nice. A small place for the grandkids to swing, slide and teeter totter would be a bonus, for sure. As for size of an individual site, 60'deep by 40'wide is plenty, but more is better.

Go to any tile store, Home Depot or Lowes and get a gallon of waterproof material like Aquadefense. Roll it on, then put your new carpet down.

RE: Traveling in the winter with a TT

Driving on black ice, towing a trailer, is like being pulled on an inner tube by your drunk buddies. Just follow in the tracks of big rigs and hope for the best.
