RE: Need to buy replacement battery

not trying to stir the pot, but the above linked batteries claim to be Marine and RV Batteries ... and one includes Deep Cycle in the name and description. So, which is it? Deep Cycle or Marine and RV? Is there really an acceptable hybrid that now does both? Or is this still a compromise trying to really be a true Deep Cycle battery?

RE: My 350/3500 is just too big to fit between the lines!

way too many small car parking spots around here - usually at Home Depot and Lowes. I guess nobody buys anything bigger than a toilet seat any more. And don't get me started on the educated idiots that "DESIGN" (and I use that term in a derogatory manner) parking lots to impede traffic flow, not enhance it. Would like to introduce a size 11 boot to the seat of the pants of the morons around here that design our parking lots. When I have to take the truck to a Prius Preferred Parking lot, I usually back in tail over sidewalk to get out of the traffic flow the best I can.

RE: What;s Wrong With My RAM Truck????

Blend door failure was a recurring theme for a while on the 2nd and 3rd gen RAMs but I thought they were a "broke and stayed broke" problem, not one that works for a while and then doesn't.

RE: Diesel fuel stop on I25 between Cheyenne Wy. Casper Wy.

Just a tidbit of detail - the Sinclair Truck stop at Orin Jct. is roughly a quarter to half-mile east of the rest stop on Hwy 20. It is competitive "at times" (check on your own) I've seen it vary wildly from Cheyenne, Wheatland and Lusk - my usual choices when traveling between Denver and Custer/Rapid City, SD.

RE: "Service Temporarily Unavailable"

I was getting it regularly when joining from RV.NET, so I switched over to TRAILERLIFE portal. It was ok for a while, but now I'm getting it regularly from there. Cancel the page when it spins and hit reload and the page does load on the second try.

RE: House battery/Propane

In my experience, you can generally find RV refills for propane in the US at rental equipment yards, ACE Hardware, U-Haul, Tractor Supply, etc ... a quick google search for "RV propane refill near me" will turn up useable results.

RE: proper hook up procedure?

OK I've got it now. Rubber chocks from Horrible Freight OK? I do the "bump" test now but the advice to only slightly raise the front legs makes a lot of common sense in case the hitch is not fully latched. Thanks for the help. Those are the ones I use. Cheap and effective.

RE: Truck with 5ver towing a boat

i won the only argument I ever had with a state trooper. I could see 2 patrol cars doing leap-frog on I-70 near Vail, CO one year, pulling over car after car. I continued on in the slow lane past them and a few minutes later one of them pulls in behind me and pulls me over. Of course I got the standard "Do you know why I pulled you over?" and truthfully answered no (although I had suspicions). He said "CO state law requires you to move over for emergency vehicles" and I countered with "the rest of the statute says 'if road, weather or traffic conditions make it not possible, then slow and maintain a safe speed. What you couldn't see when I went past you were the 3 cars bumper to bumper on my left side of the truck and trailer not allowing me to move over one lane. So, I slowed down 20 mph and passed you with caution." He blinked and said "I'll just write this up as a contact. Thanks and drive safe". You know you're old when cops and doctors look younger than your grandkids.

RE: Lake Byre Recreational Area in Kennebec, SD

town website call the fire department? Or one of the businesses? Closest relatives/contacts I have are on either side of the state now, with nobody in the central part of SD

RE: 5th Wheel Hitches 101

Whether the B&W is best or not I dont know but I would say most B&W owners would have a hard time trading their hitch for anything else. I'm another B&W fan boy. I think your 7.3 diesel is going to have its work cut out for it. As your self appointed President of the B&W HeavyWeight Fanboy Club I can assure you B&W makes the very best non air ride hitches on the 3rd Rock From The Sun. Certainly one of the heaviest. and just LOOK at ALL THE LOCKS you can put on it!!!!! :D

RE: freezer solutions for new rv'er/elk hunter. Arctic Fox 990

Thank you all very much for your ideas! I'm looking in to all of the suggestions. A lot to think about! To clarify, I'll be full-timing in the camper. There will be no dedicated hunting site. I'll hunt again when I run out of meat/there is room in the freezer. That changes the equation from what I'm used to seeing. I would still look at a small chest freezer, generator or primarily solar and more batteries on a small utility trailer, before I would swap out the fridge for a freezer.

RE: freezer solutions for new rv'er/elk hunter. Arctic Fox 990

some of the out of state hunters I run into here in Colorado have a chest freezer on a small utility trailer and a generator. Once the freezer is cold, it will stay frozen for a few days easily, if unopened. Personally, I like to hang my game for a few days before freezing, if at all possible.

RE: Rafter J-Bar / Custer / Rushmore

When I lived in Custer, we (and many others) used to make sure we took our vacations out of state ... WAY out of state during the 3 weeks of the rally ... yeah - it's officially only 1 week, but a week of pre- and post- rally crowd is huge. I see you've decided to switch to Yellowstone instead, but honestly, I see Yellowstone's "normal" summer congestion on par with the Black Hills Bike week(s), so, to me, it's a tossup.

RE: Unplug All The Charger/Converters

On the other hand, there are numerous anecdotal reports of a SPOT device causing Garmin GTN-750 and other general aviation GPS units to malfunction due to interference ... as well as numerous other combinations, but this particular interference affects me personally. So, not RV related, but just a "does happen" report.

RE: Andersen Hitch issue

I don't mind the extra lift to hitch and unhitch, but if you do, you could raise the hitch just enough to take the weight off the ball, then pull the pin on the ball and let it drop down into the hitch, and pull away. Rehitching might be a bit tricky with that, however, unless you mark the exact height of the hitch.
