RE: Fleetwood service centers

I was just at the Decatur, IN location a few weeks ago for some warranty work. I had a good experience. They completed the work within the timeframe estimated based upon the list of repair items I submitted in advance. In addition, they were good about repairing items I discovered once at the service center. While they accept drive ins without an appointment, you may end up waiting quite a while without one. While there, I observed some drive ins waited up to two weeks before a tech looked at their coach. The service center has a process to determine the sequence of servicing customer rigs. Appointments are first in line according to ones scheduled start date. For Drive ins, warranty and safety issues are next, followed by remaining repair work. They do their best to incorporate the drive ins interspersed with the scheduled appointments. Upon completion I was satisfied with the repairs. Some items I elected to address on my own. They have sites with 50amp power so that you can stay in your own rig at night. Water and a dump station is available at the west end of the service center. Each day your assigned tech will come to your site and take your rig to the service bay at 7am. Your rig will be returned at 3pm. For warranty and certain repairs, I recommend taking to the service center.

RE: Phone/email question

If you are using Gmail, you may need to change a security setting to allow “less secure” apps access to your account depending upon the email client you are using. To change this setting, go to you Google account page, select Security and the scroll down to the Less Secure App Access setting and turn this on. If it is your email client that is causing the issue, this will get you up and running. I advise looking into a different client or updating the one you have if an update is available. I just had this same issue on my laptop when trying to use an older version of Outlook to access my email. Changing the above setting resolved the login issue.

RE: Video Editing Software

I am using adobe premiere elements. Just fine for consumer use. Has some nice features found in the higher end packages with a simpler interface. I have the Mac version but it is available for both platforms. Just recently used it for the same purpose - digitized a bunch of mini rv camcorder recordings from back in the day.

RE: Car dollies

I too tow an Elantra behind our motorhome. We have the Demco Kar Kaddy 3. So far we have been happy with its performance. It is well built albeit a bit heavy to maneuver when having to disconnect from the motorhome. I have since installed a trailer jack to the dolly to aid in moving the dolly around. Demco offers a jack as an accessory but I opted for one from HF that was on sale for $17. Much less than the Demco version and so far seems to meet my needs. Good luck on your search for a dolly.

RE: Delamination repair

I have not had personal experience, but check out the YouTube channel “RV with Tito”. He had a similar issue with delamination in his class C and he shows how he approached repairing his rv. BTW - Tito is not the name of the host of the videos. It is Brian. He explains in one of his live Q&A videos if you are curious.

RE: Replacing awning fabric

Check out RVGeeks YouTube channel. They recently put up a video of an improved method for replacing an awning. They too used ToughTop awnings for their rig as well as in the video mentioned above.

RE: wifi signal amplifier

X2 with a ubiquiti device. Have had varying degrees of success depending upon the setup that the campground provides. As others have mentioned, signal strength can be overcome with a WiFi booster, but bandwidth is often the issue

RE: App for capturing imaged in iPad (free)

Doesn't the ipad have a screen shot function? I know android does as we needed to use if for system acceptance testing on a website we were setting up. Yes, on iPad/iPhone, press home button and power button at the same time. It will place the screenshot in your camera roll

RE: Satellite Phone/Hotspot

Take a look at the Spot satellite messengers. Various devices with different capabilities. Some you can type messages on the device, others you can configure canned messages that include your location. Does require a subscription but they now have month to month plans so you don’t have to keep it active when not in use. According to their website, a clear view of the sky is required for a signal. I have not used one personally, but an avid overnight hiker I know uses it all the time. Even in areas like the white Mountains in NH. Just know that under thick tree canopy the signal will likely drop out.

RE: What is this?

Thanks so much for solving this mystery! Now I will have to check to see if one is already installed and this is a spare or if it is missing from the air filter housing. My money is on that the techs at the dealership had no idea what it is so it when in the box of unused/spare parts.

RE: What cellular company?

We have T-Mobile and we are on the Unlimited 55+ Plan. Gives us unlimited talk, text, and data for two lines for $148 per month, but $60 of that is to finance our iPhones and $28 is for device protection insurance. Coverage is good in the areas we have been. May not have as much coverage as Verizon but we are happy with the service. I especially like it when we are at a campground and their WiFi is not up to par or they do not allow streaming. In these instances we use one of our phones as a hotspot to stream YouTube and Netflix.

You guys are cracking me up. Maybe it’s one of those things you put over a cut lemon so you don’t get seeds in your food.

RE: What is this?

It’s only 3-1/2 inches in diameter, so it would not be for storing cords or hoses. The black band is elastic so I think it slides onto a tube, but to what is the mystery.

RE: What is this?

It, along with some other items of which I have identified, were loose in a box. I believe they are parts that may not apply for my installation as one item was a harness for a fourth video feed to the rear/side cameras monitor. It is about 3-1/2” in diameter.

What is this?

Trying again with photos We recently took delivery of our motorhome. One of my tasks has been to identify to what equipment the miscellaneous parts left for us belong. I am stumped on the item in the attached photos. I looked through all the manuals provided but have not been able to determine to what this item belongs. My first thought was to the clothes washer or generator but I could not find evidence that it belongs to one of those pieces of equipment. Any ideas?

RE: Photo Management/Storage

I use Adobe Lightroom CC. It has many advanced editing and organizational features It does require a $10 per month subscription but you get Photoshop and Lightroom and 20gb of online storage. It also comes with a companion app for iPhone/iPad that allows you to begin edits on your phone and then finish up on your Mac after it syncs with your desktop/laptop. May be more than what you are seeking but for those seeking advanced functionality it is a good value. Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Bundle

RE: We last did this in June of 2017 Let's do it again!

White Mountains in New Hampshire in the Fall. Just love the Whites. Even in “stick” season (after the leaves have dropped) the scenery is wonderful.
