RE: Camp ground near Thuront MD for Oct 20 - 23 or so.

Lantly this is the most complicated thing I been involved in lately. We are in NC right now and leaving here for Myrtle Beach then Charleston then don't know where so I don't even know where I'll be coming from. Now something about hoping nothing is happening at Camp David because of their fly over zones when big shots are there. Something about flying a banner over the wedding site. Mama don't care about leaves. Wedding site won't let us park there because some nice camper dumped their black tank in the parking lot last summer. I'll check Ramblin Pines tonight

RE: Summer Plans

Will be in Myrtle Beach last week in March, week before that Racing at Galot drag strip in NC. Beyond that, who knows where the wind blows.

RE: Camp ground near Thuront MD for Oct 20 - 23 or so.

Lantley thanks for getting my spelling right. My daughter lives on Oella and son lives on the Howard Co side of your town. Reason I said GB is because we have a house on Aviation Blvd accross from the general aviation terminal at BWI. She is getting married near Thurmont on the 22nd. I don't need to be close but would be nice. I looked at Ramblin Pines, how close to Thurmont is it?

Camp ground near Thuront MD for Oct 20 - 23 or so.

NEAR is the key word. I have a 38ft DP with a Toad. Prefer a private campground but could take something else. I already googled and I have a place in Glan Burnie so I'm not interested in Cherry Hill etc. NEAR Thurmont. Thanks

RE: right front tire wear

My friend just had this same problem last year with the same wheel on an F-250 Ford. Tire dealer determined it was a defective tire and replaced it. That solved the problem.

RE: Tennessee/North Carolina - Cool summer weather

20mi is pretty close---Hendersonville, Linville, Saluda, Blowing Rock, Forest City, Newland, Banner Elk, Lots of places in that area. I have no interest in Builtmore but have stayed a few times at the Grove Park Inn. And Asheville has a few draw backs but we have spent some time there in the last few years and haven't been bothered by any of it. Buy a motor home---just unhook and ride to your next adventure.

RE: Looking for a TOAD for our New Travato

Smart cars are flat towable or on a dolly if you wish. Ours is set up with a Road master tow bar but I dolly it most of the time. These cars are hard to find but worth the effort. So much that as of now we have 3 of them. Good luck

RE: Axle and tire?

I am not good at all the technical advice here but I’ll submit real life, no BS, experience. My truck and trailer together weigh 22,000lbs. In 10+ years and over 100,000 mi I had 2 tire problems, 1 the whole tread came off of the tire but it was still full of air and the other was road debris. I tow level, check air often and here is where I lose all the “experts”. Other than what came on the trailer when new I have ran 235-15 Good Year wranglers from Walmart. This is a 3 axle trailer. I once had a trailer that blew 9 tires in th 6 months or so I owned it, don’t know why.

RE: State Parks

I just booked into Myrtle Beach for the last week in March 7 days + 1 free. That’s supposed to be a busy week. Going from there to Charleston the next week and no problem there either. Happy camping folks, enjoy your life.

RE: Pilot credit card needed ?

Dave must be the only person on earth that finds flying J equal or less than Bubba down the street. Just recently on I 95 I got fuel less than a mile from the flying J at a BP station for $.95 less a gallon + $.15 for using my BP card. Thats $1.10 less a gallon and BP isn't exactly Bubba. This DP holds 110 gal but it only had to take 10 gal to save $11.00. You try Flying J, Loves, ETC and see just how much extra you spend.

RE: State Parks

So? Charge their credit card because they didn't show, they tell credit Co they weren't their and charge is removed. So how does that help? Joe resident down the street that pays his taxes here can't get a spot because daddy big bucks reserves a spot for 2 weeks a year in advance then don't show, how does that work? Looks like the out of staters are playing the system, maybe. How about charging out of staters more and limiting how far in advance everyone can reserve? Who has a real solution? As I said above, I pay to get spots in private parks so I have never had a problem

RE: MH used newer or older

Everyone is different. I had a 45ft Dynasty with 4 slides. I kept it 1 year, slides were a pain and didn’t need the room anyway. Got a 40ft that wasn’t bad but not enough power. The one I have now is 36, has a full wall slide out and 450hp Cummins. I like it. Consider l sometimes tow a 32ft race car trailer.

RE: MH used newer or older

Rich is about right. Last year I put 6 new Hankooks on mine for $2500, every year service is about $2-300,and routine stuff I do myself. I got mine new and have kept it in perfect condition. Wash, wax, etc when it needs it and I have every record. Just hit 100k. Miles.

RE: MH used newer or older

Don’t know which Monaco model you looked at but mine is about that age and since it’s always been stored inside and well maintained it looks and acts like new. $284000 when new. Just make sure everything works and tires aren’t aged out. Records, you want records.

RE: MH used newer or older

Craig is right. Get an older HIGH END DP and you will get a far better unit than new ones on the market today. I was just at a RV show here in NC And saw how cheap even more expensive ones were built. I wouldn’t trade my old Monaco for any of them.
