I have also used Maxxis tires for many years on my TT with outstanding excellent results towing the trailer all over western U.S. from Texas.Glad to hear it. We are low mileage travelers, though, staying local mostly. We average no more than 25 hours driving longer distances each year. I would expect my tires to last better than frequent travelers.

While the Maxxis trailer tires have been better than most earlier St tires, there are more tire manufacturers that have stepped up their quality/dependability.
I am curious what the speed rating is on the current version Maxxis 8008?
Hope your new Maxxis serve you well! Always a good feeling to change out older tires for new!
JerryI looked on Maxxis' web site, but could not find a speed rating. I have always assumed 65.

I had a set of Maxxis M8008 on my 5th wheel and had tread separations in 5 years with very little wear on the tires.
I also had a set on a small single axle utility trailer that had tread separations in about 7 years and very little tread wear.I've never heard that before. Sorry you had that. Did you always run them at max inflation?
I hope my experience with the 2nd set is as good as the first.

I use the Dicor self-leveling lap sealant, as well. It sticks good and lasts. I clean the area first with denatured alcohol.

New Maxxis tires
I'm sitting at Discount Tire waiting to have new Maxxis M8008 tires put on my '95 Sunnybrook 26DB. I put a new set on 9 years ago when we bought the trailer and they have been flawless for us. New tires aren't cheap! But I think I've pushed their age long enough.
My Dad and I are pulling it down to the Outer Banks of NC in October for some surf fishing. It's 5 hours each way. Didn't want to take any more chances.

I park our TT over a natural area (tires are parked on large paving stones) under trees. Several years ago, I installed Camco roof vent covers over our two roof vents. I leave the roof vents fully open at all times while parked at home. We've never had moisture problems inside.
Good ventilation should negate any need for dehumidifying. But your climate may differ, I don't know.

I use my Rv a lot. And I have had so many regulator failures that I always carry a spare.
I started doing this after one failed in camp on the North Rim. Temps were in the teens, and everything that runs on propane wouldn't work. I had to drive to Flagstaff and pay an inflated price for one.
Cost me 1.5 tanks of fuel and a day of hunting as well.That doesn't sound like fun!

Be aware that there can be a excess flow valve in the pigtail that connects to the tanks..

If if equipped with the valve it may have tripped or failed.. I don't know it is self resetting.. May have failed on both pigtails.I know I installed new pigtails when I replaced both my tanks around the time of the regulator. My trailer still had the old style tanks, and I ran out of fuel. Had to get two of the new style tanks and switch out the pigtails. I'll check them out.

If it's not the regulator then you have a spare. There have been posts about oil in the propane lines which comes into the tank with the liquid propane.
And a spare regulator is a good thing to have.
It isn't expensive or difficult to install - and a lot of essential appliances in your RV rely on it.True.

Tanks shut down with excessive flow, a safety device. Turn off the tank valves and then slowly open, might solve the problem.
Also disconnect the line going into the tanks. I had the same issue and found the line to be faulty, it was holding pressure.I had both tanks (30 lb.) off this morning, so they were disconnected. Same problem when I hooked everything back up.

I was only using one burner on the stove, so I doubt there was excessive flow. But I will check that. It did continue to burn at a low flame, it didn't shut off completely. But it was barely enough of a flame to slow cook an omelette.

Hi, everyone.
We have a 1995 Sunnybrook 26' TT. Two weeks ago, we were camping in Williamsburg, VA and went to make breakfast. The flame on the cooktop initially burned great for the first second or two, then died down to a barely-usable flame. We were able to get our omelets made at least. I tried changing tanks, but same story.
I installed a new Camco double stage auto changeover regulator back in '14. I just went out and investigated a little. There's gas in both tanks, and the water heater does the same thing. It initially lights, then immediately sputters out. I turned the pressure adjustment up a couple turns and then back down, thinking maybe something got stuck or there was a piece of trash maybe. No dice.
I'm thinking 8 years has been the life of this regulator and I need to get a new one. Does that sound likely? If so, any recommendations as to a better brand that will last longer?
