RE: Mileage observations

A lot of work to figure out that pulling a trailer will cause your MPG to be about 9-10 a gallon. But thanks for the reminder. A friend once told me that anyone who tells you he gets of 10mpg is lying:-) My MPG is around 9-10pmg when pulling my 16K trailer with my F350.

RE: Home Storage

waste of time on turning wheels. if you want to work on the trailer, and have no anti freeze in system, BLOW OUT ALL OF THE WATER---including the pipes. If you just use a 'heater' it won't work and you will have one hell of an electric bill. I am from Michigan, Up North, and I would never NOT put anti freeze into the system.

RE: HD sat dish needs replacing.....not covered?

Interesting that you are talking about your sat dish. nothing in warranty states it as a coverage. if it was damaged via an accident your insurance will cover it.

RE: Springs

yes. has a 'nipple' on the end of the bolt. NOTE: these bolt do crack/break so periodically check them.

RE: weak antenna signal

I hate it that they still use RG59 cabling. But that isn't the issue. You need to call winegard to find out what antenna you have. I suspect you do have an amplified antenna...but? Winegard does have great support. https://winegard.com/products/hdtv-digital-antennas/outdoor-antennas

RE: RV snowbirding or MX or Carribean

just go to Mazatlan. easier to get there every year. but yes, we are caught up like you. USA is too cold, everywhere, so mexico or Caribbean is really the answer. The DR, punta cana has some ok place to stay for the winter but you're talking around $3000 a month on the ocean.

RE: Camping etiquette

it forces you to drink more. the campground should have never allowed that many people to be on one site...oh well, it is over.

RE: I think I'm stuck.

question on warranty. was it authorized and they just have not done it yet? if not deal with forest river direct and push them. as for the winterization....do it yourself. on their lot.

RE: Fry cooking electric device and watts?

no. just don't overload circuit. heck toasters, hair dryers and electric heaters are pushing this amount of wattage.

RE: Replacing drum brakes ???

replace the whole things with self adjusting.

RE: Quiet generators

they are all pretty quiet. consider cost, weight and wattage. New honda is now a 2200 watt generator...no longer a 2000 watt.

RE: Onboard genset

I camp at a military base where we all rotate every two weeks to dry camping. ALL RVers use small generators and none use of the rigs use their large genset.... I would say that a small generator is what I'd prefer

RE: Broken Spring

At 70K I'd get everything redone. you can always go to the IS system from mor ryde and spend money....:-)

RE: Inside Tire Wear?

mobile suites with 7K axles? interesting. I'd get on the phone with dexter and talk. and then get an alignment. If you are keeping the rig you might want to get with mor ryde and do their IS system...a quick $7K but disc brakes.
