RE: $600K Of Marijuana Seized in MH Near Joliet, IL

Kinda like "The Mule", Leo Sharp in Clint Eastwood's movie. Just not as "big-time". :B Dan

RE: Propane Tank Gauge,recomendations please

Only one is going to go empty at a time. When Indicator goes from GREEN to RED.....swap indicator lever to other cylinder Then remove the empty one and go get it refilled. TWO 30# cylinders (14 gallons) will last a long time FTng we went 6 weeks on ONE 30# Pressure inside cyliders doesn't change a lot until almost empty Overthinking the issue. We've been using this method for 10 years now, works GREAT for us! One tank valve open, one closed. When tank "A" is empty switch to tank "B" and when it's convienent, get tank "A" refilled. Old Biscuit is spot on!! 30# tank will last a good long time unless you're running the "h" out of your furnace! :B Dan

RE: I-94 through Chicago

We live in SE WI and do the drive all the time. We have also towed through Atlanta a handful of times and IMHO, Atlanta doesnt hold a candle to the hassle of driving I94 through Chicago. Winding and narrow lanes, on-ramps on both sides, crazy drivers, etc... The 294 bypass really doesn't change the drive at all if you use an iPass. If you have time, I'd sign up for and iPass and have it sent as it will help you in Indiana as well. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Great advice!! We too travel through Chicago every now and then, timing is EVERYTHING! From Milwaukee we head through Chicago on I-294 starting at 8:30 am - 9:00 am. We've NEVER had traffic trouble using 294 at that hour but beware, we're going south and the north-bound side south of O'Hare is crazy busy at that hour! From the south I'd try going a little later in the morning IF using I-294. We use the I-Pass, time AND money saver! We had to leave our trailer in Indiana three years ago for warranty work, I decided to take I-94 up through town (Chicago) around noon. NEVER again will I drive up the "freeway" (I-94)! It took us and extra hour to get through Chicago that trip. Dan

RE: Mama Gerties

Here's pictures from our site when we were there April of 2018. https://i.imgur.com/oD0lsTol.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6wNnnWZl.jpg Loved the views! Dan

RE: Mama Gerties

We stayed at Mama Gerties April of 2018. We had a site at the top and it was awesome, the lower sites did look a bit close together and obviously didn't have the views we had. IMHO our site was worth the extra $$$, we enjoyed our stay there. Would we stay there again? In a New York minute IF we could book a site at the top again! Good luck with your decision. Dan

RE: Lippert Hydraulic Leveling System

There's NO straightening those rams! They're "junk" now. Your friend is going to have to order new jacks from his local RV dealer or from Lippert directly and get them installed. Your friend has just learned an expensive lesson the hard way unfortunately. :S Dan

RE: US 20 From Waterloo IA to Sioux City IA

Unless they added some bridges in the last few years..... We took 20 from Dubuque Iowa all the way to Wyoming with NO troubles with our 13' (high) plus fifth wheel. VERY relaxing drive, lots of places to stop and get fuel, poty stops and of course food. :B There's a city park in O Neil Nebraska you can stay in for free, (they accept donations) electric and water with a dump station. That was a memorable trip, traveling the back roads is just a better, low stress way to see the country! Dan

RE: Redwood National Park question

We stayed at ancient Redwoods a few years ago, although cell service wasn't the greatest the location can't be beat IMHO. We found the owners/staff to be very friendly and helpful. The WIFI while we were there was "spotty" as well but for us that wasn't a deal breaker! We would DEFINATELY stay there again! Dan

RE: Going to the Sun Road in Glacier NP

We did going to the sun road BOTH ways a number of years ago, did the Red Bus too. We did that drive on our Glodwing. The Red Bus affords you (the driver) the luxury of actually "seeing" the sights however. :B It's an extremely beautiful route! Dan

RE: The Wide Open West - an Example

wows, this was the price for Diesel at Coldfoot Camp March of 2013. We were there for Aurora photography and sight seeing. Up there you CAN'T argue........ the price is the price! :B https://i.imgur.com/2qhr9fll.jpg It gets REALLY dark up there, perfect for time-exposures! https://i.imgur.com/to08w2Nl.jpg Dan

RE: Residential Fridges

We've been using our residential fridge in our 5th wheel for 5 years now. NEVER had a problem keeping the temps at 38° and 0°. It cools down much faster than the propane models we've had in the past. We would NEVER go back to propane! Our Suites is equipped with a 1,000 watt inverter and two 6 volt batteries, keeps the fridge running for at least a day (24 hours) without being connected to shore power or to the truck. Dan

RE: Florida to Arizona best route?

Hwy 98 is a mess not because of the storm but further west in the panhandle it is choked with traffic. From east of Destin to Pensacola. And that is why I won't be driving that way...heh. I think, but am not certain I was OP on this thread. You can get a route from Google or Mapquest but you don't get local knowledge. I'll vouch for that. We've stayed in Navarre the last couple of years in early spring and 98 can be "quite challenging"! Traffic on 98 can be worse than traveling through Chicago IMHO. :B Dan

RE: Weird thunking sound when charging lifeline AGMs

Inverter went "south" on ya??? Or possibly needed to change the setting on your inverter to "AGM"? Just a guess..... Dan

RE: Strange Ram 2500 Vibration

A couple of guys already said it...... U joints! My rear U joint started to “let go” with less than 50k on it on my old ‘06 RAM. Similar scenario, felt the vibration more when towing but it was still evident without pulling the trailer. Blocked the rear end up off the ground and crawled under it..... That’s when I discovered the bad U joint! I’m REALLY glad I caught it when I did as we wouldn’t have gotten too much further with that worn out joint! Doesn’t cost anything to look at your U joints, it’s a good place to start anyway. Good luck! Dan

RE: Video: Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (CO)

Thanks First Tracks, that was an enjoyable ride. We were in Silverton and Ouray a couple of years ago but we didn't take the train. Beautiful area indeed. I enjoy YOUR videos as well, very informative! :B Dan

RE: Video: Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (CO)

We took the D&SNGRR back in 2010, awesome scenery and the old steam engine was also a great experience. Here's a video I shot back then of the gorge. This will illustrate why the train moves slowly through certain sections. :E Silverton is a fun town, we enjoyed that very much. Dan

RE: peak traffic times in cities

Goggle maps. Turn the traffic setting on and you can see which roads are jammed during rush hour instantly. If you review over a few days you will be able to determine best time to cross,,, ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Good advice IMHO, major cities will vary slightly. In general I would say stay away from them between 6:00 am tp 9:00 am and from 3:30 to 6:30 in the afternoon commute times. Again this will be different for each major area. Google traffic is your friend! Dan

RE: Durango campground?

A couple of years ago we stayed at Westerly RV Park while in the Durango area. We really enjoyed our stay however it's not on the Animas. :( Nice, quiet, (small) campground. Dan

RE: Question on Selling FW Hitch

I sold two hitches over the years. Both instances the guys buying the hitches never even questioned me about rails, both guys already had rails in their trucks. Now I have the B & W puck system in my RAM and have NO desire to sell this hitch! Best hitch I've ever owned! :B Dan
