RE: Ins and outs of mice :)

I’ve always had a couple outdoor cats that have and are good mousers. Never had a problem with mice in the rv in 30+ years.

RE: Those with portable surge protector

During a lighting storm always unplug. There's not a surge protector that going to help with a lighting strike. With a close lighting strike it will just flash over the surge and get what your trying to protect. Remember lighting has extremely high voltage and amperage.Don't rely on the surge protector.

Those with portable surge protector

While plugged in at your home do you always use your surge protector? I can see why to always use at campgrounds because of lots of things there. High demand on power causing low voltage- high voltage-bad wiring-etc etc. But at home those are not near as likely to happen. Just curious what other do.

RE: Slides- Important stuff AND what they don't tell you.

Our old 5th wheel 2002 bought new had it till just a few months ago. Only had a problem with the slide out one time a couple years back. It would not go out even and only a foot or so. Some how lost the bolt that connected the drive gear rod connecting the side gear rail together. Put in a new bolt no more problem. One of the reasons we chose the floor plan on our new 5th wheel you have full access to everything in it but one section of cabinets when the slides is in.

RE: Need help with sulphur smelling water

Actually, no need to "force feed" into the pressure side. You simply meter the chemical down into the well itself, then pump the water out from the water table. Lyle Are you sure that's legal to put chemical's in the water table?

RE: Need help with sulphur smelling water

Sulfur is a gas that in the water so aeration of the water will release the gas in most cases. I don’t know if a filter on it own that will get rid of the smell.

RE: Jayco Eagle replacement ac motor

OK just making sure. It doesn't matter which side of the capacitor which one of the brown wires goes to. Just be sure you get the red-black and white back correctly. Dose the new motor use the same size capacitor as the old? Not a bad idea to replace the old capacitor when you replace the motor.

RE: Champion 2k in storage for three years. Advice starting it?

Is the carb bowl filling with gas? If not make sure if it has a on -off valve it's on and gas is flowing through the valve - if so needle could be stuck to the seat. If bowl is full then time to pull and clean maybe at that time a rebuild kit or new replacement carb.

RE: Pretty new but need advice

Also I would find out the last time the wheel bearing has been serviced and the age of the tires.

RE: Pretty new but need advice

You should be fine with that just don't load it all in one end . Spread out the weight through out the length of the tt. Do you know the model of the tt?

RE: SHOUT OUT/RV Connection, Lawton, OK

"And they could not replace just one". Huh?!?!? Why not? What was wrong with the other three? What did the dealer tell you to convince you to buy three more batteries? Getting that fishy smell. Perhaps you should read my post for comprehension. What part of "Interstate honored their warranty, replacing all four at no cost" do you fail to comprehend? GM Wow! Ask a ? and get the third degree! You wrote and I quote "they found that one of my four Interstate house batteries was bad, and they could not replace just one".

RE: Champion 2k in storage for three years. Advice starting it?

First drain the old gas and carbs if gas in them. Check oil level and put in fresh gas and give it try. If your lucky it will start and run fine if not your going to have to clean carb-rebuild or replace. After you get it running you may have to flash the generator to get it to produce AC voltage.

RE: Lippert ground clearance issue

Mine is the same way. They are so close to the wheel that the only time to be worried is if you drive over a curb and when the rear wheel drop off could catch it.

RE: Water hook up

I have the same hook up as you on our 2019 Jayco. I use those short (maybe 8") hose with the wire around to keep from kinking. I screw that on first by holding the nut and screwing the short hose into it.That the best way I've came up with and haven't had any problem with leaking.Haven't had any problem attaching the quick connect hose (blue coil hose) on mine the couple time I've used it.

RE: Timken bearing sets

Probably sale 10 sets to every one piece individually sold and packaged in a single box. Next time our bearing rep drops by I'll ask him.

RE: Timken bearing sets

All I run is Timken or SKF. I rebuild lots of gear boxes every year small to 6,000lb +. Always Timken or SKS. If you want it to last use the best.

RE: Step carpet

They do look good! One thing though about those carpets ,the metal Steps will actually Rust and Dissolve much faster when they are carpeted! The steps on ours are aluminum.
