RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

2011 was our first rally. I look at my picture from back then and wonder what happened between then and now. I got old. Sure makes me miss Gary.

RE: Inside Tire Wear?

I would expect that the new axles were not aligned. Had the same type of wear on my trailer and the axles had lost some of their camber (bow). You may not have had enough when the axles were installed. I had the axles realigned. They used a large air powered hydraulic jack to bend them. As side note. My 2011 36' DRV MS came factory with 7000# axles and I agree that they are not heavy enough for the trailer.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Well, our trip to Colorado started and ended on the same day. We had two blowouts on the same tire location. Tires were only 3 years old so I do not know what the issue was. It was very hot (extreme heat advisory) and loaded heavy. Took 5-6 Hours on the side of the road to get a new tire brought out and mounted. It took out the hydraulic lines on that side so I could not open slides so we headed back home. We left at 9am and got home after midnight. The dogs seemed to enjoy it. They like to be in the truck even if it is setting on the side of the road in 102 degree weather. I managed to get the lines plugged today so I could get the trailer off of the truck. Don't know how long it will take to get the trailer fixed, hydraulic lines and some structural damage as well. That's my story, hope everyone else is doing better.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Charlotte's surgery went extremely well. They were able to use 5 small cuts with robotic tools. She will be on a liquid diet for at least 10 days which will be hard, I think I would starve. She says it's a good time to loose weight. I am going home tonight to take care of dogs and if things continue this well I can bring her home tomorrow afternoon. Richard, pray things went well for you and Dale, we will pray for Terry's recovery.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I climbed to the top of Clingman's dome when I was 17 and again at 63. I expect that was the last time. Heights do not bother me. My biggest fear is how mad Charlotte gets at me when I stand on an edge looking over. Dan, I'm glad you guys are having such a good time. Charlotte's surgery is Monday, if the hurricane does not cause problems. It looks today that is will miss us. It will be a long day. Everyone, try to stay well. That looks like it is hard to do anymore. Richard, I hope Monday is a good day for you. Dog are doing well. They don't want to stay outside too much. It is way to hot. Everyone, stay safe and enjoy life.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

We are still here but not able to go camping so far this year do to health issues. We have reservations in Colorado for the last half of August thru the middle of September but I may need to cancel. Charlotte will most likely need surgery later in July, we find out tomorrow. Dogs are fine. We though we were going to adopt our neighbors small dog. They got a divorce and were not taking care of her but now one has stepped up and said they will take her. We will see. I hope everyone is doing well and staying cool. It is very hot and humid here. Enjoy the week.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

It was 33.6 degrees here setting on the Texas coast. They say it may be colder tonight. I hope not. Guy loves it, the colder the better.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Richard, glad you have answers to move forward on. I just went thru that. I have severe diverticulitis and have had many colon polyps. Mother died of colon cancer. Just went for routing colonoscopy 12 days ago and he found a polyp he did not like and could not say if it was cancer until the biopsy results. It was a long wait but the results came back yesterday as not cancer but precancerous. That means a colonoscopy every two to three years but I will be fine with that. The diverticulitis often causes discomfort and he says some day I will need a bowel resection to remove the worst part. If it gets infected you will know, it really hurts but antibiotics clear it up. What I eat does not seem to make any difference. Dogs are good, Daisy is waiting for summer and Guy is loving winter. Waiting for camping season to get here.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

After having set thru the roaring and damage from Ike in 2008 and the flooding of Harvey last year I would like to never see one again. We had to make a run to the emergency vet this morning with Princess and send her to the rainbow bridge. She took a quick turn for the worse last night and was in very bad shape this morning. I is very hard but a relief to know she is not in the pain anymore. It took less than 5 days from diagnosis to now. The vet said wednesday it was moving fast but this was quicker than she though as well. There were originally 4 dogs together, Cookie, Bubba, Oreo and Princess and now they are all together again.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Today the vet told us that Princess has bone cancer that has moved to the lungs with on only a week or two to live. This is a shock as she has shown no symptoms until a few weeks ago, with a limp. We found her 12 years ago when we were building our house and she had been dumped and living on grasshoppers. She had been shot with bb guns and it took over a month to get her to come to us. She is a special girl. Charlotte has been very ill with MS issues this past month and she and Princess are very close and it is extremely hard on her. Please keep her in your prayers.

I just learned Gary's funeral was today. I believe that would be the correct custom. Normally within 24 hours of passing.

Asking for prayer for my local vet for years, Donna Kay Hall. She had a medical issue and is in a coma and on a respirator. She needs a miracle. She is a wonderful and caring vet
