RE: Nascar Follies

Yep, he sure didn't have any trouble getting around the 12 on the 12's 2 tires. The 9 got wrecked and the 42 got burned by the 43'S $50,000 spin the week before. They both had a shot at a win otherwise.

RE: Is this normal for a 30 amp breaker

Why is the title question about a 30 amp breaker and the whole thread is about a 20 amp issue?

RE: Signing a power of attorney for bank when selling your RV

The "bank" is protecting itself from the buyer, not the seller. If the buyer gets control of the clean title the lender has no protection.

RE: Nascar Follies

And it comes down to Homestead for the last time. Somebody in a Camry is going to wreck their team mate if necessary to win the title, Kyle is going to be butt hurt if he doesn't win, and there will be mayhem among the lapped cars if they don't get out of the way. I can't wait.

what a find as we approach Veterans Day

I got a little moist around the eyes yesterday when my sister brought me a present. My Dad was a WW2 grunt 7th Army, 63rd Division, 254th Regiment. Bulge survivor. Somewhere along the line after coming home from the war his heavy winter hooded coat ended up in my uncles house on the family farm in High Point NC. As that generation is all gone (one only mentally) we have no way to know how it got there as it was Mom's family's farm. Cousins were cleaning out the house recently as their Mom (my aunt) has gone into a home. They gave it to my sister to bring it to me. His initials and last name are stenciled in several places and there are several stains and one cigarette burn. One stain could be blood or mud, I can't tell. He wasn't in the Army after the war so it wasn't a Korea era item. He passed of a heart attack in 1983 while in England for a reunion. He was my hero and I miss him.

Penske has deal to buy Indy racetrac,

The family that has owned the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since the end of WW2 has agreed to sell the whole lock stock and barrel to Roger Penske. It's to settle in Jan 2020. The deal includes the land, Indy Car, the track, and other things related to the track.

RE: Only in the RV industry!

Besides which most of what's on here has nothing to do with the original post after the first 3 responses. No biggie, and the emoji is awesome.

Local news story made me chuckle (stolen? dog)

The Raleigh paper this AM reports a shelter adoption day at a local Petco had a dog grabbed by a young man who then ran away. There is a $1000 reward up for grabs. I think that they are missing the point. They had to home the dog, so somebody did. I don't see the crime here.

RE: Campground Theft

I've had a tailgate protector blow off and I've had to screw down the bed side protectors as the adhesive likes to release from the suction under the 5er and beat the **** out of said 5er. I doubt anyone stole it.

So who wins the Trophy after the 22 and the 19 take each other out? Again!

RE: Netflix forces newer TVs

Thanks for the input from everybody. We already have a Firestick so I logged into Netflix thru that and get no error message. It makes me wonder if Spectrum is the problem and not the TV.

RE: Mysteries of RV design

Our Jayco has the awning switch upstairs on the far side of the dresser. Having faith is Jayco I figured there had to be one somewhere in the front storage area as well. There may be one but I can't find it if there is. I need to just run wires and put a switch in myself but I haven't done it for 6 years. The awning can't tilt to drain so we never leave it out and it's so high off the ground you can't reach it to hang lights or whatever.

Netflix forces newer TVs

We went to watch a Netflix movie night before last. A message popped up stating that effective Dec 1st our pretty expensive high end but older TV was going to be moved to the bedroom as a spare. Not in those words of course. Evidently other streaming services will be involved as well. I've seen Roku mentioned when I went to research this. I would imagine FireSticks will be in play as well as others. Time marches on.

RE: Building RV park near McKinney TX, what would you want most?

Looking at the map I don't see many overnighters coming thru. The area has a pretty big population (commuters to Dallas?) so I might lean towards being a local favorite with enough amenities to draw the families on weekends or visitors to those same families. Is there a huge medical complex nearby that might need some longer term visitors? What do you have in the area that will draw visitors? Any big long term construction goin on? You're not far enough south to be a winter destination and the snowbirds only fly part of the year. Personally I would put up single wide rentals in enough numbers to satisfy your income desires. Less acreage needed, no office needed, no daily payments, maybe a pool, and you can get away when you want to leaving the maintenance guy in charge. If you do the CG you will be married to it.

RE: weak antenna signal

Digital TV is mostly on UHF frequencies. I use a $35 antenna and an app on my phone for directions to point it and usually get 20 or more channels unless we are really in the sticks. There is an external TV jack on our RV so no need to crack a window. I spent an hour taking my roof antenna apart to install the Winegard UHF addition before discovering the coax was broken inside the square tube that raises and lowers. Chose the easy way.

RE: New way to lose more readers on this forum

How nice, they've removed my link and it now kicks back to the sub menu for General RVing issues. When the portal started acting up I switched over to the Trailer life portal as suggested. Still had some issues but overall OK. I tagged it as one of my favorites and removed the favorite for All of a sudden one day when I clicked on my favorite it now said it was RV.Net again instead of Trailer Life. Problems started all over again, some threads would open while others would not. All of a sudden Wed morning this week when I clicked the favorite for up popped a login screen for Good Sam. Bright red and yellow like the KOA that isn't there yet in Moyok NC. I then typed in as though it wasn't a saved link and It was the same way Thursday morning. I knew that I should have done a screen shot. My point is that this isn't rocket science and anybody that says they haven't had problems must not visit very often. It would be so easy to take all the portal links and redirect them to ONE web address. Somebody needs to get fired, or maybe the whole IT group. Some members ask where all the posts have gone? If you can't get on you can't very well post.
