RE: LiFePO4 Converter Change?

Can anyone cut through it and keep it simple?
Sure.
This one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DP3J3FD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Remove old, replace with new. Plug and play. 14.4 volts max charge.
You're done.

RE: Lithium Battery heater

Get yourself a wireless Thermometer with remote sensors from Amazon, place one sensor on the battery…
3 tons
Do that.
And insulate the exterior battery compartment door.
If possible, leave interior cabinet door(s) open so that cabin air can circulate into basement area.
You may not need a battery warmer unless you plan to camp in extreme low temperatures and charge battery in those conditions.

RE: Kitchen stove fan "flap".

The plastic hinge pin is what broke on mine. I fixed it by purchasing a 1/8-inch diameter carbon fiber rod from a hobby store.
I epoxied the rod to the length of the flapper edge in such a way that it replaced the hinge pin.
The flapper never came off after that.

RE: Help - jacks are draining my batteries

.
But it feels like we’re over your head, OP, and you’ve checked out.
It's more likely that he/she turned off DC power to the fridge which fixed the problem. (And that's assuming that the batteries weren't damaged from being drained.)

RE: Effect of no absorption on LiFePo4?

Ralph,
Quite the opposite. LiFePo4 do not want to be charged to 100%. They do want to be balanced charged once per month.
Isn't a "balance charge" a 100% charge?
As I recall, it is said that over time, individual component batteries can develop slightly different voltages. Thus, charging the entire battery to a full charge and holding it at full charge for a period of time will equalize the individual component batteries.
Can you clarify?

RE: Help - jacks are draining my batteries

Either you're leaving your refrigerator set for DC power (powered by battery) or you have a bad battery.
Or both by now.

Check the date on the batteries. Replace them anyway.

RE: Crack in plastic shower wall Lance 1172

Check the basement area under the shower. My 2014 1181 had shims under the shower pan that had fallen out. I caught that defect before it became a bigger problem.

No. I'm now a rain bird. Sold the wet house and moved to a dry house.

RE: Broken Frame on a RAM 3500

1)The owner has a Facebook page and made a comment about selling the truck camper and that he also owns a 5th wheel.
This raises the unanswered question about how the truck was outfitted and used. Does the owner own two trucks? Does the truck also have a 5th wheel connection?
2) If you've driven in Mexico then you know that the topes (speed bumps) are everywhere. The shadow of a tree can hide a tope. If one were to hit a tope with a big camper on it could damage the frame and more.
Again, it's an unanswered question (though comprehensive insurance should cover such an event).

RE: Batteries died...sheesh

If you have a Costco membership then I would recommend simply going there and buying what fits your budget.
In my experience, they have replaced their batteries at no charge or pro-rating if one of their batteries goes bad.

RE: Is changing to a quieter AC worth it?

It appears that the Aventa requires 230 volt 50 cycle. It maybe for European RVs.
The RecPro model i looked at is 120 volts but draws 14 amps.
And the RecPro specs state the db at 59 - about the same as a Honda 2000 generator.
The "standard" truck camper AC such as the one on my Arctic Fox draws 8 amps.
You'd pretty much need a 50 amp hookup if you're running a larger RV.

RE: Arctic Fox 1150 onboard batteries

The first check I would make is a voltage check at the batteries with both the solar and the truck disconnected.
(Hopefully, you have an on/off switch to the solar panels.)
Then start the truck and wait for about a minute before checking the battery voltage again. The voltmeter should now be reading a higher voltage charge from the truck.
Are you getting a charge from the truck?

RE: Water heater temperature

I leave the water heater off, only turning it on 18-20 minutes before taking a shower. That gets the hot water to a temp I can use without cold water. It may take a few tries to figure out how long to leave it on. Saves a lot of water.
Is that using GAS or ELECTRIC?
When using gas to heat the water, I figure about 12 minutes to reach comfortable hot shower water.
Electric seems to take a little more time.

Lance used to have their own parts department.
You need your model, year and serial number before you call them.

No advice regarding driving but for clothing, light weight and wind resistant are best. Lots of wind in that area.
That's one part of the world that I would elect to revisit.
It's like Alaska on steroids.

Yes. The Dana 80 is de-rated by Ford to match the tire load capacity.
The Dana 80 is rated for 11,000 pounds by it's manufacturer.

RE: Los Algodones Mexico

Don't be shocked by all the happy street greeters along the sidewalks that encourage one to use their dentist or shop.
(It's kind of off-putting to non-travelers.)
We've never had a problem there but we always carry Cipro - provided by out local primary care doc - for world travel.
