RE: Call before you dig

One question is "please provide driving directions to your house." "Turn left on Jonesboro Road, I'm the third house on the right." Seems pretty simple to me. Whattya mean, it was left, not right? It was right the way I come in, I can't help you came from the other way, that's on you, not me. Its really not that difficult, how about north side of Bridge Road 1/4 mile east of River Road.

RE: 6 volt battery post melted

:) Hi, melted connections are not caused by a short; They are caused by a poor connection. A heavy load with a poor connection creates heat. Hmmm, I seem to recall from basic electricity that a short is a pretty heavy load. (Load being defined as amps)That's what I was going to say Larry, you beat me to it.

RE: Purchased my first RV

The bumper is a bad place to store the sewer hose. The interior walls will rust and the vibrations from going down the road will make pinholes in the hose.Nonsense. Mines been in the bumper for 15 years. Same hose, no leaks.

RE: Just bought my first travel trailer

A 3/4 ton diesel should be the minimum for your consideration. I have a 3.5 Ecoboost F150 and while the engine is sufficient to pull a trailer that size, you would exceed your payload package and have not safety margin. The payload capacity of my F150 is 2500 lbs. It would handle that trailer, my family of 4 and still have 500 lbs leftover.

RE: And Texas Caves In

"If it's someone's time to go, I can't save them. Some people simply will die from this virus, like it or not. Everyone dies eventually, like it or not. However, the people who are most susceptible are still free to stay away from the rest of us (self-isolate) as we resume our own survival tasks." Since the Michigan rallies, I’m all for this because it looks like support for this mainly comes from a particular political bent, and if they want to race for the exit, have at it!Yup, leave it to that Partcular political bent to fix what that Other political bent seeks to destroy; Nothing new there.

Those with underlying health concerns you know who you and they are. Keep them isolated til this blows over. Simple as that as those are the ones actually dying. So far we haven't managed to do that very well. Lots of people dying in nursing homes. There are thousands more not dieing in nursing homes.

RE: which TT is best for full living?

I suggest you start by learning about what the capabilities of your tow vehicle are, and how much it can really tow. Chances are you are looking at a trailer that weighs about 4500 lbs (brochure weight) (maybe 4800 if your lucky) because you are going to put 1200 lbs or more of stuff in it. What you really need to pay attention to is the tongue weight of the trailer (after it is loaded, not the brochure tongue weight), and what the payload capacity of your truck is. Read Here Clicky

RE: And Texas Caves In

I might of missed it, but the only reason to not have the "Shelter in Place" order is "people losing jobs". But that does not make sense, because people doing the important work are still doing it. What we really need to do is have as many people as possible stay home but protect their incomeCan we add about $10,000.00 to the income tax you currently pay to pay for your "protect their income" program. Because all were doing now is putting it on the credit card for our kids and grandkids to pay. Nothing like adding another $10T to the national debt to pay for something that didn't have to go down this way. Our kids are going to be so proud of us to leave them with this debt on top of what we already handed them. Explain to me like I'm a 3rd grader how much better it is for the debt we pass to our grandchildren to pass out money to corporations that have been making record profits for a decade than pay it to people that work for their money, collecting a smaller wage in same dollars than where 30 years ago? If the city in China can open after 76 days by shutting down and support the population while doing it why can't US? And I bet most of the grandkids, if give a choice, would prefer to inherit a livable planet, but that is another discussion. It's not. Any debt you ain't paying back within a reasonable amount of time is bad. Simple enough for a third grader?

RE: The camping industry is going to be hit hard

Seems like going into an economic depression is a high price to pay. I think we have to remember to blame the virus for the economic hit rather than imagine all would be well if the governors had not acted. Most of what has closed here in TN would have closed anyway due to lack of customers. Even here there aren't enough stupid folks to keep bars and nail salons in business with the virus circulating around.Good luck selling that hogwash. There's a difference between reacting, over reacting, and hyperventilation. Most of of us are smart enough to see the difference. Are you saying there are enough stupid people to keep bars and nail salons open or that the few "non essential" businesses would not have suffered anyway? I think my original statement can stand on its own but since you brought it up, there is a documented 99% chance that I'm smarter than you are. :R :BNow that was funny, best laugh I've had today.

RE: And Texas Caves In

Testing as a way to actually control the spread is a false promise. Testing and contact tracing did work for Mers, SARS, and other infectious diseases. It may not for Covid-19 because of the higher R0 and the 1-2days of infectiousness prior to the onset of symptoms. It may still be the most humane way to open the economy. What is your suggestion, open the economy and let “survival of the fittest (wealthiest)” control the outcome? What's your suggestion, keep everything shut down for about 2 years until a vaccine is developed?keep everything shut down until there is enough single use PPE to not require multiple uses and the testing and contact tracing capability is ready for the stay at home orders to be lifted. What's your definition of contact tracing capability - Because it sounds to me like you are planning on living the rest of your life in quarantine.

While your talking to them about Covid-19, why don't you also ask them how they'll be effected by massive unemployment for the next year or two.

RE: Should/will Glacier, Teton and Yellowstone open?

Unfortunately there are way to many stupid brain dead people that don't see it as the national emergency that it is. Thus putting all the intelligent people at risk. Those intelligent people that you reference, are those the one that predicted 2.2 milllion deaths in the US, then decided they were wrong and revised it to 1 Million, then 200,000, then 100,000, then 60,000; are those the intelligent people you're referring to? Or are you referring to the sheeple that believe everything they say? The Governors took away people basic constitutional rights based on proven flawed information. Then rather than admit they were wrong, they doubled down. "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Ben Franklin Sorry nobody has had practice at containing a pandemic before this one. Perhaps some consideration of the effect of social distancing, mask wearing, and closing/limiting business may have had on the original modeling done 6 weeks ago is in order. "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best" Benjamin DisraeliWhen you start publishing for public consumption about over 2 million people dying, you better be a little closer than off by 2.1 million lives. But the whole point of my post was, that the governors relied on flawed info, then when they found out it was flawed instead of rethinkig their draconian measures, they doubled down. Welcome to the 2nd Great Depression, enjoy your trip.

RE: The camping industry is going to be hit hard

The damage to small business is going to take a hard toll. Prediction is 25% will never reopen with those jobs lost. No matter what the gov.does it will not be enough to return to a so call normal. We will enter a period of long hard recovery economically. All those mortgages on "hold"....you better have the cash handy to pay and catch up because that has not been forgiven, only delayed. I am more concerned with the damage to our freedom and liberties. These shelter orders are not law. Governors can not just declare a law. People are being arrested for just being outside...alone..paddle boarding, running on the beach, a family of 3 in a park not near anyone else, telling us what we can and can't purchase. We have willingly given up our freedom. There is no reason that if people practice proper social distancing protocols we can not go about our private business without government telling us we can not buy paint. I go about my day as I need to and do wear a mask and use gloves when needed. I will not lay down and give up my rights because a governor says I should. Gun stores can't do business but pot stores can? Liquor stores can? Yeah you know it's bad when tin hats are sold out.You must have yours pulled to far down over your eyes.
