RE: Opening of National Parks, Forests & State Parks

What is the point of closing National Parks to overnight camping yet allowing day use with closed bathrooms? How is that going to stop the spread of covis?

RE: Poor quality/returning trailers

If it's still under warranty take it back to where it was built, if at all possible.

RE: BC Residents only

BC is making it very clear that it is BC residents only in the provincial campgrounds. If a camper were to have non-BC plates, they could/will be refused. https://www.castanet.net/news/BC/300622/Camping-in-BC-provincial-parks-for-BC-residents-only-this-year?fbclid=IwAR3XHCSlA_cguIGZfNwAJRFOrKdLOEFVYS6q8lx7LiC8Z1xyd81My6c5avo#300622 Gary HauptCool Idea. Maybe Arizona could do the same and keep the state campgrounds open only to AZ residents during the snowbird season.

RE: How much off MSRP now?

We just had a 4 day RV show, first since March, and more than doubled our usual sales figures. Business is excellent.

RE: Anyone traveling yet

If the beaches are packed with young people partying, then they go home for mother to give them a place to sleep and have contacted the Coronavirus while at the beach. The young person might not get sick, but poor mother or father or grandma will probably end up dying from the virus. So I do not know what kind of model Florida is showing. Maybe I am just getting old and do not understand how some think. And what do we do about the yearly flu that kills tens of thousands each and every year? Stay home forever? People are gonna get sick and die, that's the way it is. How can people be this concerned about grandma kicking the bucket and be silent about the million babies aborted in the US every year?

RE: Bearing repack - hub noises?

Strongly disagree with the above post. The problem isn't the electric brake. The brakes's star wheel is adjusted too tight, which is why the wheel isn't turning, the brakes are too tight. Your post is contradicting. It says the problem "isn't the electric brakes" but then goes on to explain that the problem is the brakes being adjusted to tight. The information you are probably trying to convey is "the problem isn't the electric function of the brakes, but the manual adjustment of them"Not contradicting at all. Anyone who has worked on drum brakes knows the brake pads can be manually adjusted by rotating the star wheel to loosen or tighten (contract/expand) the brake shoes against the drum. The electric portion of the braking system is activated when the driver steps on the brake and electric current is sent to the brakes which applies the brakes. Unless there is electric current going to the brakes there will be no activation of the brakes. The only things causing the wheel not to spin is brakes that are adjusted too tight (with the star ring) or the wheel bearings being too tight (axle castle nut too tight). The electric portion of the brakes is not a factor as there is no current going there.

RE: Seeking advice on towing vehicle

My trailer is similar to the Road Warrior in size and weights and I have pulled mine all over the US with a 2013 Chevy dually Duramax diesel. I like the extra stability of a dually and with a 5,000 pound payload I'm not worried about overloading my truck.

RE: Retracting jacks while unhooked

Not sure what you mean by zeroing out your Autolevel feature. If you just want to reprogram the level point of the trailer you don't need retract the jacks. Level the trailer and tell the system the new level per your owner's manual.

RE: Opening of National Parks, Forests & State Parks

I think people are sick of this bogus covid scam. You can't believe the CDC or Dr F because they have been wrong so much of the last couple of months. Studies are already showing that continuous mask wearing doesn't keep out the virus but it does put the wearer at risk. People want to live their lives. Sick people, susceptible people, and scaredy cats need to stay home and not rag on the rest of us.

How sad it must be that scientist , historians ,economists , journalists have devoted their whole lives to deceiving you . While a reality TV star with decades of fraud and exhaustively documented liar is your only beacon of trust and honesty , I thought this was a RV forum .And you, of course, can share with us at least one of the documented lies.

RE: Do I have this math/ understanding right?

If I did the math right, the 3500 pounds on my trailer hitch is reduced by 330 pounds if I put my 1000 pound Harley in the garage. If I put in my 1300 pound RZR the weight is reduced by 440 pounds. Of course this was just a basic calculation that didn't figure in adding food and personal items, and other stuff. Still, I wouldn't carry a huge toy hauler on a 2500 truck.

RE: Double towing

Why does it have to be "a cop having a bad day" to enforce the law? Please explain to this retired police sergeant why I would be having a bad day for doing what I'm paid to do, for doing my job? Here in AZ double towing is legal if the the lead trailer is a 5th wheel. I recently saw a truck pulling a bumper pull trailer pulling a bumper pull trailer in violation of AZ law. If I was still a cop I most definitely would have pulled that person over and dealt with the violation. I'm not saying an automatic ticket but I wouldn't let it go by. I wasn't the type of cop to let things go by.

RE: Goodyear G614 ,and Endurance Tires

10% over axle rating doesn't take into account the pin weight on a 5th wheel, which on my trailer is 3,500 pounds (scaled). My trailer has 3x7,000 pound axles and increasing 21,000 by 10% comes to 23,100 pounds to satisfy RVIA. However, subtracting the pin weight, my three axles only need to carry 19,600 pounds. 19,600 equates to 3,266 pounds per tire - well within the load range of any E rated tire. BTW my GVWR is 19,000.

RE: Bearing repack - hub noises?

Strongly disagree with the above post. The problem isn't the electric brake. The brakes's star wheel is adjusted too tight, which is why the wheel isn't turning, the brakes are too tight. I can back off the star wheel sufficiently so that there is no noise at all when the tire freely spins, which shows the electric brake doesn't make noise like the tight brakes do. And the electric brake has no juice to it so it's not going to cause a tight brake. While you're there check the adjustment of the castle nut, which holds your wheel together. It should be hand tightened then backed off to the first hole the cotter pin can go through. Too many people over tighten the castle nut and the bearings fail. This process is only for trailer brakes.

RE: Travel When Restrictions lifted

Not to mention the inflated deaths. The numbers are misleading because a lot of the deaths aren’t actually from Corona. How do you know about the "inflated deaths"? I don't even know what an inflated death is and I doubt that any contributor on a RV forum has the expertise and information to give an exact cause of death for Aunt Ethel.CDC has mandated that no matter what illness a person already has if they have Covid 19 when they die the death is classified as a covid death. Normally cardiovascular deaths are the number one killer in the US. Now, if someone with cardio issues dies with Covid 19 it's the Covid that killed the person not the carido issues. It's not the heart attack that killed you it's the covid 19.
