RE: This is revolting

Yes, there is a difference. The folks on the Oregon trail bet their lives that they would survive the dangerous trip and deserved to leave their names. Today's graffiti artists are punks, have done nothing to earn the right to leave their name and should be thrown in jail.

RE: Oil changes en-route with camper on truck?

Or wait till you get home and then have it done. Or go to a Walmart or other parking lot and change the oil yourself.

RE: slide out question when fifth wheel is parked for the summer

There's folks living in their RV's and the slides never come in.

RE: Texas to Ridgway CO late November

Been about 6 years ago we left San Antonio for Tucson the week prior to Thanksgiving and encountered an ice storm moving along I-10 west to east. Our 5th wheel front end was covered in a sheet of ice. Power was down along the route leaving motorists stranded for lack of fuel. That storm came up quick. You won't know the weather until it's time to do the trip.

RE: North North Carolina to Sevierville, TN routes?

I've dragged my rolling condo all over the US and Google Maps has provided me with good routes overall. I do, however, check the routes with my Motor Carriers Atlas to ensure the roads are approved for the big-rigs (routes are highlighted). If you stay on the Interstate, US roads, and State highways you shouldn't have any issues. I've been on many of the roads you list and they were good roads.

RE: Replacing drum brakes ???

Sounds as though you've never done this before. Find a friend to help you through it as you'll also have to do the bearings.

RE: RVs and California's Planned Power Outages

Remove the dead/downed trees that are nothing but kindling for large fires. What a novel idea. But they don't want to do that in Cali, they'd rather the people suffer for days without electricity. One thought to keep this RV related: In the affected areas will the traffic signals still work? Picture your life without electricity. Idiots are in charge of Cali but then, that's who elected them. Sad.

RE: Myrtle Beach, SC to Quartzsite, AZ in January

Go to Florida. Nothing to see in Quartzsite but rocks and desert.

RE: Need help with sulphur smelling water

I had the sulfur smell. Changed the water heater anode and gave the water heater a good flush. No more sulfur smell.

RE: Bluewater Key RV questions

Entering the ocean, one becomes part of the food chain. Pay attention to what's going on around you. Chances are no harm will come to you but if you're that worried about your safety then stay on the beach.

RE: I Think I'm Outta Here

Seems like so many topics are repeats, like we've covered most things. I also don't particularly care for the censorship on this and other forums.

RE: New to class A

Not a Class A but my dually has no place to park in downtown San Diego so we Uber. I can't imagine RVing and not having wheels to run errands, sightseeing and such.

RE: lens cover

You can buy the entire scare light unit for $14.99 on Amazon. I couldn't find just the lens.

RE: Suspension upgrade disappointment.

how are the ball joints? tie rod ends? Length to wheel base ratio is?Ditto on the ball joints and Tie rods. It's not rocket science. Ball joints, tie rods, pitman arms all wear out. Not sure why a front end shop would replace bushings before the aforementioned items.

RE: Toyota Highlander and 26' Trailer

Sadly, there are no laws nor any required weighing of our RV's as there is for the commercial vehicles on the road. We are free to load up our RV's without any regard if we are over weight.

RE: Lowering TV tire pressures

Lowering tire pressures when not towing? I don't change my tire pressures, 70 front, 65 rear. That's what the door label recommends and it's been working for me, truck rides real smooth when not towing.
